10 Under-the-Radar Fights to Watch in November
November promises to be a busy month in the world of MMA, with promotions such as the UFC, Bellator, Legacy Fighting Championship and others putting on plenty of shows.
Though fights like Georges St. Pierre-Carlos Condit and Rich Franklin-Cung Le are dominating the headlines for upcoming November fights, there are plenty of other bouts that promise to intrigue and excite.
Here are 10 under-the-radar fights to keep an eye on in November.
Tyson Griffin vs. Efrain Escudero at RFA 4
1 of 10The headliner of the stacked RFA 4 card in November will see UFC veterans Efrain Escudero and Tyson Griffin fight their first bouts since exiting the company.
Both guys are wrestlers, so that may cancel out and lead to a striking battle. When two wrestlers square off with their hands and feet, it usually leads to a fun fight.
Even if that fight doesn't tickle your fancy, the number of exciting prospect bouts on the undercard should have you paying attention to RFA 4.
Brian Cobb vs. Ronys Torres at World Series of Fighting
2 of 10The inaugural World Series of Fighting promises to be a fun card to watch, as the main card boasts names such as Andrei Arlovski, Anthony Johnson and Miguel Torres.
On the undercard, top lightweights out of the UFC are set to do battle in the form of Ronys Torres and Brian Cobb. Both are extremely talented and were guys I thought the UFC should have signed before they went to World Series of Fighting.
Cobb has wrestling and Torres has jiu-jitsu. They both can strike a bit, which will lead to an interesting showdown.
Ryan Ford vs. Kyle Baker at Bellator 79
3 of 10A fighter quickly rising up the welterweight ranks is Ryan Ford, who takes a late replacement fight for Paul Daley against Kyle Baker at Bellator 79.
Ford has been on a tear lately and is looking to earn a spot in the Season 8 Welterweight Tournament. Winning impressively over Baker would definitely put him into consideration.
Baker is a solid fighter as well and will give Ford a run for his money. It should be a fun fight.
Vinicius Queiroz vs. Alexander Volkov at Bellator 80
4 of 10The semifinals of the Bellator heavyweight tournament will bring an enticing matchup, as UFC veteran Vinicius Queiroz meets surging Russian Alexander Volkov.
Queiroz punched his ticket into the semifinals against Mark Holata. He submitted him with an armbar after getting rocked by the American striker.
As for Volkov, he demolished Brett Rogers in a dominating three-round performance.
It should be an interesting matchup.
Dong Hyun Kim vs. Paulo Thiago at UFC on Fuel 6
5 of 10The main card of UFC on Fuel sees a low-publicized welterweight scrap between South Korean star Dong Hyun Kim and Brazilian veteran Paulo Thiago.
Both guys are well-rounded and looking to move up the 170-lb. ladder. A loss for either man would be a huge setback, while the winner would move into top-15 status.
Judo, jiu-jitsu and kickboxing are three martial arts that will be on display, so this will truly be an MMA fight.
Haruo Ochi vs. Ryuichi Miki at Shooto
6 of 10One of the best Japanese fighters to not be employed by the UFC is Haruo Ochi, as he takes on Ryuichi Miki in the Shooto organization.
Ochi should be in the UFC with a win, as the lighter weight divisions still need some depth. Further than that, he is marketable in Japan and a top prospect.
Kenny Garner vs. Guram Gugenishvili at M-1 Challenge 35
7 of 10In a third encounter between M-1 veterans Kenny Garner and Guram Gugenishvili, we should expect a barn burner.
The first encounters saw Garner submit to the Georgian in the second round via guillotine choke. Garner exacted revenge in the second fight by doctor stoppage to take the M-1 Championship off Gugenishvili.
What happens in the third fight will be interesting. Be sure to watch.
Marlon Sandro vs. Dustin Neace at Bellator 81
8 of 10Bellator and Sengoku veteran Marlon Sandro is looking to get back in the win column at Bellator 81 when he takes on Ultimate Fighter veteran Dustin Neace.
Sandro is coming off a Bellator tournament loss to Daniel Straus in the finals that stripped him of a chance to exact revenge on Pat Curran.
Neace is coming off a loss in the finale of TUF against Bryan Caraway. He is likely looking to find a permanent home in Bellator, so he will come out guns blazing.
Patrick Cote vs. Alessio Sakara at UFC 154
9 of 10The main attraction of the undercard of UFC 154 is going to be a battle of strikers, as Italian Alessio Sakara meets Canadian Patrick Cote.
Sakara has pro boxing experience and is a knockout artist. Cote is iron-jawed and a good kickboxer in his own right.
Fireworks are sure to follow, so tune into FX to see this one.
Jordan Mein vs. Forrest Petz at Score Fighting Series 7
10 of 10Strikeforce employee Jordan Mein is on loan in the main event at Score Fighting Series against UFC veteran Forrest Petz.
Mein is one of the top prospects at welterweight and a top prospect from Canada. He has beat some tough guys in his tenure, but Petz will be a real test.
Petz is well-rounded and extremely experienced. He should provide a good fight for the son of Lee Mein.
