RIP: Attitude Era WWE

I already have my weekly WWE Manual, but I thought I'd go for something different.

Over the years, we have seen the demise of important parts of wrestling in the big company. WWE went from PG-14 to PG a while back, so I know this is a long time coming.

We all remember the Attitude Era, right? For those of you who don't, it was a time of odd matches (Edge shaves Kurt Angle), dirty jokes, and divas who, for some reason, always acted like strippers. Most people enjoyed that time. The Attitude Era brought us D-X, Mr. McMahon (the character) and the re-innovated Rock.

There was more violence back then. Remember the great tag team matches with the Hardys, Dudleyz and Edge & Christian? I do. The TLC matches that they were in were amazing and basically made The Hardys and E&C's careers. How about the Inferno and Hell in a Cell matches?

These two matches brought destruction and violence like we had never seen. And no one can say that they don't have a favorite Hell in a Cell moment. Mine was the Armageddon Hell in a Cell where Taker tossed Rikishi off of the Cell.

The storylines were filled with edgy angles and nasty humor. That is why I brought up E&C before. Their antics were hilarious, face or heel. I still remember Edge telling Billy Gun that he was a vacuum cleaner, "managing to both suck and blow at the same time."

I enjoyed the Dudleyz tossing anyone who stood in their way through tables.

Finally, I could not forget these two. ROCKY AND STONE COLD!!!!

Possibly the two most liked, charismatic, and enjoyable wrestlers of all time. Stone Cold wreaked havoc all over the WWE, especially with Mr. McMahon. Let us not forget when Mr. McMahon pissed himself when Austin had a fake gun to his head.

Now are the Rocky Moments. The Rock came into any town bringing energy into any stadium.

Rocky came in with crude humor and memorable phrases such as:

Just Bring It! It Doesn't Matter What You Think! I'll Stick It Up Your Candy ***! I'll Lay The Smackdown On Your Candy ***! and finally... IF YA SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL WHAT THE ROCK.... IS.... COOKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what matches or moments to put down because...well...he has so many.

Let us remember the times of The Attitude Era. And let us remember the times of PG-14 up until the past few months. We shall miss you, Attitude Era.
