Breeders' Cup 2012: Early Odds for Race Favorites
With the 2012 edition of the Breeders' Cup just around the corner on November 2nd and 3rd, it's not too early to take a look at which horses will contend for the title at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.
Here are the odds for the top contenders for the sprint, classic, mile and turf races at the 2012 Breeders' Cup, according to Ladbrokes.
Sprint
After defeating reigning champion Amazombie at the Santa Anita Sprint Championship earlier this month, Coli has to be considered the favorite for the Sprint race at the Breeders' Cup.
Ladbrokes has Coli as the favorite over the reigning Breeders' Cup champion Amazombie at 4-1 odds, with 2011 champ at 5-1 along with The Lumber Kid.
Classic
Game On Dude is the heavy favorite for the Classic race at 2-1 odds, and rightfully so after winning four of six stars this year.
After that, Flat out is second at 5-1, Mucho Macho Man comes in third at 8-1.
Mile
Heading into the Mile, it appears to be a one-horse race, as Wise Dan is the clear-cut front-runner at 3-1.
According to Ladbrokes, Excelebration should be considered something of a co-favorite with Wise Dan, and both appear to be more than capable of taking home the title.
Turf
There are a number of favorites for the Turf race at the Breeders' Cup, as Ladbrokes has three horses' odds set at 4-1 or better.
That includes Point of Entry at 5-2, St. Nicholas Abbey at 3-1 and Shareta at 4-1, so picking a favorite for this one is pretty difficult.
