FC Barcelona: Lionel Messi Meets, Kicks Ball with Kid Born Without Feet (Video)

Michael CummingsOct 28, 2012

A while back, the football world was astounded by the story of Gabriel Muniz, an 11-year-old Brazilian boy who plays the game despite the slightly inconvenient fact that he was born without feet.

If you missed it, the video is here. Muniz's story was so inspirational that it drew the attention of FC Barcelona's scouts, who invited him to play at a summer camp.

If that wasn't heart warming enough, try this. After that amazing experience, Muniz recently had the chance to meet some of the superstars from Barcelona's first team.

Yeah, that means he met Lionel Messi, the three-time-defending winner of the Ballon d'Or (formerly known as the FIFA World Player of the Year Award). And, uh, others, too.

The meeting appears in the video above. It's the Set Piece Video of the Day for this Sunday. Enjoy.

With this one, there's really not much more to say. As fans, we all take football too seriously, but this is one example of an opportunity for everyone to cheer for the same team.

Barcelona like to call themselves "more than a club," and in this instance, the slogan truly seems to fit.

Well done to all involved, and let's hope this kid can keep playing the game. We're pretty sure he's already better than we have.
