India vs. New Zealand: Fifth ODI Preview
India will play their fifth and final ODI against New Zealand on Saturday, March 14.
So let us take a look at the expectations from the players on the team for tomorrow.
Virender Sehwag has just scored a record-breaking century in the fourth ODI, he has also scored two very quick 50s in the first and second ODIs. So he will be looking out to hit more and people will be expecting a lot from him.
The Man of the Series award will most probably go to him, but who knows how he will play tomorrow.
Sachin Tendulkar is doubtful for the fifth ODI, due to his abdomen injury. He is likely to be rested so that he is fit for the upcoming Test series. Ravidra Jadeja has got a chance.
Irfan Pathan is likely to come in. He played in the T20s which India lost 2-0. He is a good hitter and can provide useful runs in the end but unfortunately his bowling has not shown its colour.
Pragyan Ojha is also likely to come in, as he has not played a single match in the tour so far. But he has performed well in just one match by taking four wickets against Sri Lanka recently.
Praveen Kumar is a good bowler and has performed well in the past. Recently he did well against Sri Lanka and can do a good job in New Zealand also.
Yuvraj Singh has not done well in the series. He has scored just 150 and has not been in good touch. But after that 50, if he gets a chance tomorrow, he can do a fairly good job if he is in good touch. But while bowling he can grab the tailenders' wickets.
Yusuf Pathan is a good smasher and can provide useful runs in the batting powerplay. He can also contribute with the ball.
Suresh Raina is a good hitter and a good run scorer as well. His contributions are useful and help India somewhat. Ishant Sharma's no-ball problem continues, but if he grabs crucial wickets he can help India a lot.
Zaheer Khan has done well in Ishant Sharma's absence and can contribute too.
So wish India best of luck for tomorrow's match and let's not let the Kiwis get a consolation win.
