Does JBL Really Deserve a Match at WrestleMania XXV?

JMar 12, 2009

Its seems as though the general feeling is, after his Intercontinental Title win and talk of this mysterious announcement that he has to make, that JBL will be retiring at WrestleMania XXV.

There is also speculation that he will be facing Vladimir Kozlov at WrestleMania, possibly for his Intercontinental Title.

This seems likely as it could follow on from what Vickie Guerrero said to JBL following his title win on RAW, who told him that it was now time for him to do something for her.

Now I’m not one to question the WWE’s judgment (...hmph, right) but is this really a match fitting of the grand stage?

Personally, I quite like Vladimir Kozlov as a wrestler, and think that if the right moves are made he could be big. Unfortunately, it seems that the majority of WWE fans disagree with me.

During Vladimir Kozlov’s match with Triple H at Survivor Series, there were chants of “bo-ring” and “T-N-A,” which doesn’t exactly suggest the fans like him.

I really hope the WWE think about what they are doing in the next few weeks because WrestleMania XXV is shaping up to what I think could be the best one yet, and to have the card soured by a match like this would be a real shame.

Perhaps a segment where JBL came out and only made his announcement would be more fitting, rather than him being in a match. The Texans would enjoy it, and it would be a far better way to send off this veteran than in a clumsily put together match.

I have the utmost respect for JBL, not only in the wrestling world but as a businessman, but I cannot help but think that this angle can only detract from the spectacle of WrestleMania.

Do you think JBL will retire at WrestleMania XXV? And will he be in a match with Vladimir Kozlov?
