Chelsea Transfer News: Blues Shouldn't Battle Manchester City for Radamel Falcao
Chelsea are dominating the Premier League to start the season and must not battle Manchester City for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao when the January transfer window opens.
Per the Daily Mail:
"Manchester City are preparing a £46million bid to rival Chelsea's offer for Atletico Madrid striker Falcao.

Later in the article:
"Although City have more financial clout than Chelsea, Blues owner Roman Abramovich is determined to add Falcao to his strikeforce and is unlikely to give up his quest without a fight.
"
Chelsea doesn't have a surplus of strikers, but they cannot afford to make another major signing for a striker when there's no guarantee that Falcao will dominate in England like he has in Spain over the last year.
If the Blues are going to make a major transfer in January, it should be for a defender because left-back Ashley Cole, center-back John Terry and right-back Branislav Ivanovic will not be top-tier players for many more years.
If Cole, whose contract expires at the end of the season, does not return to Chelsea in the summer, then the club would need to fill a massive hole at left back. Fixing this potential problem would certainly be expensive.
Terry's age and David Luiz's inconsistent defense are two reasons for Chelsea to also consider signing an established center-back either in January or after the year ends.
Last week, I wrote an article explaining why Chelsea's pursuit of a league title wouldn't be hurt if they fail to land Falcao in January, and after watching Juan Mata and the Blues dominate London rivals Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday, I'm even more convinced that the club's current squad can take home another title.
If Manchester City wants to spend huge money for a striker who is already 26 years old and has little Champions League experience, Chelsea must not stand in their way.
