The Clemson Tigers (6-1) and Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-3) will meet up in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup on Thursday night inside BB&T Field, with the opening kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

College football handicappers will find that the Tigers are 13-point road favorites in the Week 9 betting odds (courtesy of SBR Forum).

Clemson is coming off a 38-17 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies as 7.5-point home favorites despite getting outgained by a 111-yard margin, while going under the total for the first time since its season opener.

The Tigers have won three consecutive games in this ACC series, including a 31-28 win as 16-point home favorites on Nov. 12 of last year, while the two teams have fallen short of the total in the last four meetings.

Sports bettors will find that the Tigers have gone 2-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last two opportunities as road favorites of 7.5 to 14 points.

Wake Forest is starting to win the battle at the line of scrimmage on the defensive end, as it held its second straight opponent to under 60 yards rushing in a 16-10 win over the Virginia Cavaliers as three-point road underdogs.

The Demon Deacons earned a 28-27 straight-up victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels in their only opportunity as a home underdog this year on Sept. 8—moving them to 6-3 ATS in that situation since the start of the 2010 campaign.

It’s important to note that Thursday night’s host has lost the statistical battle by 200-plus yards in each of the last three meetings in this series.

I recommend taking a long look at backing the Tigers in this spot, as they’ve covered the spread in six of their last seven October contests.
