NFL Picks Week 7: Favorites That Will Ruin Your Sunday
With Week 7 of the 2012 NFL regular season upon us, there are several favorites that should make Sunday’s action fun to watch, but instead will blow their chances and ruin your pool or wager.
All of the following teams are favorites at home this week, but a few won’t be able to cover the spread or even win the game outright. These are the teams that gamblers should stay away from at all costs Sunday.
Don’t let these favorites ruin your lazy NFL Sunday.

Oakland Raiders (-6)
Jacksonville at Oakland
As terrible as the Jacksonville Jaguars have looked this season, the team is coming off a bye week and is ready to face off against an Oakland Raiders team that will be riding the momentum from last week’s tough loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Just like Atlanta underestimated the Raiders, Oakland will underestimate the Jaguars.
While both teams will have ample chances to get their stagnant offensive units going against putrid defenses, neither will be able to separate themselves. This game has a final score of 17-14 written all over it, so Jacksonville will ruin this bet no matter who wins the actual game.
Houston Texans (-7)
Baltimore at Houston
As great as the Houston Texans have been this year, the Baltimore Ravens have been the ruin of many the gambler so far this year, and this week will be no different.
Despite being at home and heavily favored, the Texans may be shaken after the beating at the hands of the Green Bay Packers in Week 6. Baltimore is coming off a win that cost them two of their best defenders, but they are still dangerous.
Even with injuries considered, the Ravens’ offensive unit will bring its best against Houston and, at the very least, cover the spread. While Baltimore may not win the game outright, they’ll score just enough points to ruin your wager.
Minnesota Vikings (-6.5)
Arizona at Minnesota
As skilled as the entire Minnesota Vikings roster is, the Arizona Cardinals' defensive unit is the real deal and will push the boys in purple to their limit.
While losing Kevin Kolb will hurt the Cardinals, John Skelton is a push when compared to Kolb and the offense won’t skip a beat. I have the Vikings winning this game, but there is little doubt that this game will be won on a last-second field goal.
There is no doubt that the lack of elite talent for the Cardinals will hurt their chances of winning the game, but the lack of film on running back William Powell could hurt the Vikings' cause. This will be one of the better games to watch Sunday, but will ruin your wagers if you take Minnesota -6.5.
