2012 PPR Fantasy Football Week 7: Flex Play Rankings (RB/WR)

Sean E. DouglasOct 18, 2012

The Cincinnati Bengals lost Bernard Scott a few weeks ago for the season and starter BenJarvus Green-Ellis hasn’t come through for respectable RB2 numbers this year, especially in PPR leagues. Third-down back Cedric Peerman had eight receptions last week, and I have a feeling he may have earned himself more work in the offense going forward.

Peerman only carried the football one time against the Browns, but we should see him touch the football more this week.

Many of you may look past him as a flex option because the Bengals are matched up against the Steelers, but this isn’t your normal Pittsburgh defense. No, this group is old and beat up and has struggled against the run for their standards since late last season.

Peerman likely won’t receive eight receptions this week, but his activity in the passing game makes him worth a look in 12-team PPR leagues as a bye-week starter.

Brandon Bolden Misses Practice Again

For the second day in a row, Bolden has been held out of practice (via Christopher Price of WEEI.com on Twitter), leaving his status for Sunday up in the air. A good matchup for the Patriots ground game, Danny Woodhead could see a bump in touches and we may see more of Shane Vereen. Expect Stevan Ridley to receive his usual workload.

William Powell Lead Back In Arizona

LaRod Stephens-Howling failed to impress against the Bills as Powell gained 70 yards on only 13 carries. Expect Powell to see a bigger workload this week, but his matchup against the Vikings keeps him as just a flex play option.
