Preview

The final game of the second round of the Big East Tournament features No. 11 Seton Hall at No. 6 Syracuse.

The Pirates took down South Florida 68-54 in the first round to advance to Wednesday's game. In the win, Jeremy Hazell was good for his average 23 points, and Eugene Harvey and Robert Mitchell scored 16 and 13 points, respectively.

Seton Hall has had ups and down this season, but along the way they have defeated some notable opponents. In just their third game of the season, the Pirates upset then-ranked USC, and they were part of the Hoya's terrible January when they upset them by five.

Syracuse has bounced around this season as well. They went into conference play 12-1, and then kicked off Big East play with four straight wins. But it all fell apart in their next ten games, when they went 3-7.

They have since corrected their ship and have won their last four games, including an 86-79 OT win at Marquette.

All five of the Orange starters are averaging double-digit points, and sophomore guard Jonny Flynn leads the pack with 17.1 PPG. They are currently ranked in the top 20, although they were in the top ten before their slide started in mid-January.

The only game between these two teams was the Big East opener for both teams, where Syracuse easily defeated Seton Hall, 100-76.
