TNA Bound for Glory 2012: Most Intriguing Post-PPV Storylines

Jun 7, 2018

After TNA’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view Sunday night, the excitement over the company’s storylines going forward has much of the wrestling world ready for Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling.

While TNA did a terrible job getting people to care about the live event, the PPV itself did a great job getting the fans that actually paid for the event to tune in to the television show.

There are many intriguing aspects to TNA right now, but these are the top three storylines coming out of Bound for Glory.

RVD vs. Zema Ion

While this was one of the biggest surprises of the night, watching Rob Van Dam win the X-Division title was one of the best moments of the Bound for Glory PPV. While the veteran doesn’t need the win, this marks the beginning of a great feud between Zema Ion and RVD.

RVD has never been one to shy away from putting younger stars over, and no one can sell quite like the former ECW legend. As we saw Sunday night, there is still plenty of gas left in Van Dam’s tank.

If the plan is to get Zema Ion over with the crowd by feuding long-term with RVD before eventually winning the title back, that is the perfect way to book the young star and utilize the veteran talent.

Aces and Eights

As much as the TNA Universe has mixed emotions about the Aces and Eights storyline, the plot twist with Devon being in the gang was something unexpected and fun; TNA still has a chance to save this whole angle.

With so many members—including the main leader—still to be revealed, the next few weeks of Impact Wrestling are going to be interesting. Add in the fact that the gang won the ability to enter the Impact Zone at will, and anarchy will be the name of the game Thursday.

The leader of the gang is still going to be Eric Bischoff, and that is still terrible, but if the company can add in the right mix of elite stars, this could really work.

Who doesn’t love a good heel stable and an invasion angle?

World Championship Picture

There is no doubt that Austin Aries is one of the hottest commodities in all of wrestling right now, but the talk of Jeff Hardy possibly wanting to re-sign with TNA (h/t WrestleZone) may have played into the decision to give the veteran the win.

No matter the reason behind it, the next few weeks of Hardy as a face champion with the heel Aries chasing him will be fun to watch. While it is still unclear what the plans are going forward, TNA loves what Hardy brings, and he is the company’s biggest seller.

TNA needs Hardy.

While everyone is ready for the eventual Aries versus Hardy rematch, the new champion means stars like James Storm, Robert Roode, Bully Ray and others will now have a chance to fight for the belt.

Impact Wrestling is about to get very exciting.
