Josh Freeman: Fantasy Owners Shouldn't Overreact to Buccaneers' QB Big Sunday
While Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman is proving it is too soon to write off what once looked like a promising career, there is still no reason to add the four-year player to your fantasy starting lineups.
Freeman led the Bucs to a 38-10 rout of the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, and he put up a sexy stat line of 328 yards, three TDs and one interception in the process.
This is easily his best performance of the season, and it comes a week after he passed for 299 yards, which was a season-high.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Against the Chiefs, Freeman hit Vincent Jackson for two scores and a connected with Mike Williams on a 62-yard touchdown. Check out some of Freeman's performance in the below highlight, which actually starts with his lone interception.
This is the exact kind of offensive performance the Bucs had to envision when they brought in Jackson to boost the passing game, but it is not one we can expect on a consistent basis.
First of all, the Chiefs' pass defense is terrible. While they are eighth in passing yards allowed, they are 32nd in yards allowed per pass, and as you can see in the highlight, the poor defense more prominent than stellar QB play.
The other part of the equation is that Freeman is still very much a work in progress.
The biggest key to Freeman's success in this game was that he was able to avoid the boneheaded and lazy mistakes that have plagued him. In fact, this was the first game since his one-touchdown, no-interception performance in the season-opener that he had more touchdowns than interceptions.
Freeman hasn't enjoyed the best protection, the Bucs are 14th in sacks allowed percentage, which only increases his faulty footwork and leads to him pressing and forcing the ball into situations he shouldn't.
These issues are not going to go away anytime soon. Freeman is still very much a work in progress and he cannot be counted on for consistent fantasy production.
