LaDaninian Tomlinson: The Aging Star

LaDainian Tomlinson has played all his year's in the NFL (eight) with the San Diego Chargers. He has never rushed for less than 1000 yards and 10 touchdowns in a season in his career. He has rushed for 11760 yards and 126 TD's, only fumbling 25 times.

In the last few seasons, he has been benched more and more for Darren Sproles, who has rushed for 544 yards and three TD's in a three year career. 

Tomlinson has also caught 510 passes for 3801 yard's and 15 TD's.

Tomlinson has good power and the speed to take it all the way in the open field and he can also catch the ball and  take it to the house. Tomlinson has more receiving yards than the Lions' Calvin Johnson (2087).

He was drafted by the Charger's as the fifth overall pick out of TCU in 2001.

In 2001, he attempted 339 rushes for 1236 yard's and 10 TD's

In 2002, he attempted 372 rushes for 1683 yard's and 14 TD's

In 2003, he attempted 313 rushes for 1645 yard's and 13 TD's

In 2004, he attempted 339 rushes for 1335 yard's and 17 TD's

In 2005, he attempted 339 rushes for 1462  yard's and 18 TD's

In 2006, he attempted 348 rushes for 1815 yard's and 28 TD's

In 2007, he attempted 315 rushes for 1474 yard's and 15 TD's

This year, he attempted 292 for 1100 yard's and 11 TD's

For the first time this year, his attempts dropped below 300 and his yards dropped below 1,200. He is definitely starting to show his age with injuries last season in the playoffs. After upsetting the Colts, he sat out most of the game against the Patriots.

This season, Sprole's had the most carries, 61, and yards, 330, of his career.

It is obvious that Sproles will soon have more carries and yards per season than Tomlinson.
