WWE News: John Cena Reveals His Status for Hell in a Cell

Gone Baby GoneJun 7, 2018

The John Cena soap opera continues.

It has been nearly a month, since it was revealed that Cena underwent surgery to remove bone chips from his arm.

During that time, his Hell in a Cell status has been quite the topic of conversation both on and off WWE TV.

On Saturday morning, Cena decided to end the speculation on his status with the following tweet:

"

Just finishing four hours of physical therapy. If @CMPunk chooses me @WWE ill be ready for #hellinacell

"

If this is indeed true, I would expect CM Punk to formally announce Cena as his opponent on Monday night's Raw. Overall, this is big news for the WWE as their annual Hell in a Cell pay-per-view's buy rates are hanging in the balance.

As much as I don't want to see this match-up again, I gotta say it's more promising than Punk-Ryback. Don't get me wrong, Ryback has potential, but I feel, it's not his time just yet.

Ultimately, if the Punk-Cena feud is ending, it needs to be finalized at Hell in a Cell. This allows, both stars to be locked in a structure and really take it to one another without any restrictions. So hopefully this match will prove to be  a classic.

In the end, if the WWE decides to go with Cena, fans will most likely have mixed reactions--I know I do. On one hand, it's Cena closing out yet another pay-per-view. Yet, on the other, the WWE is protecting their assets, as Cena is a top earner for the company and right now they need him.

So, once again, I guess we will have to tune in Monday night to see what's in store for us at Hell in a Cell.
