    UFC 153 emanates from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    Anderson Silva meets Stephan Bonnar in a light heavyweight clash in the main event. The co-main event will feature the return of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira against Dave Herman.

    The live action kicks off on Facebook before moving to FX at 8 p.m. ET. The pay-per-view telecast gets underway at 10 p.m. ET.

Anderson Silva vs. Stephan Bonnar

    Bonnar out pressuring early. Silva slips and Bonnar goes for a single. Knees to the thigh of Silva. Knee to the body by Silva. Bonnar trying to take Silva down, but the middleweight champion is staying on his feet for now. Good elbow from Bonnar. Bonnar drops for a takedown, but Silva gets underhooks to prevent it. Thai clinch from Silva. Silva spins Bonnar against the fence. Shoulder strike to the face. Bonnar reverses positions. Shoulder strike by Silva followed by a knee to the midsection and they separate. Silva backed to the fence on purpose. Silva countering Bonnar. Standing in front of Bonnar! Bonnar goes for a single, but Silva is stout in his defense. Bonnar nails Silva but he shrugs it off. Good elbow by Silva. Uppercut. Silva is showcasing Mayweather like defense as he rolls with Bonnar's strikes. Incredible. Silva trips Bonnar and knees Bonnar hard up the middle. Bonnar is hurt! It's all over!

    There are no words for this man. Anderson Silva is the greatest fighter of all-time.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Dave Herman

    Round 1

    Herman tries a head kick early. Nogueira clinches, but it's Herman who takes it down. Nogueira is trying to sweep, but it doesn't work and Herman wants the fight back up. Nogueira pressuring. Nogueira clinches and eats knees from Herman. Nogueira catches a leg and clinches against the fence. Good body shot from the former PRIDE and UFC champion. Inside leg kick by Herman. Minotauro is walking Herman down trying to get inside. Nice right by Nogueira. They clinch once again. Straight right by Nogueira connects. Good body kick from Herman, and another. Another right from Nogueira lands.

    Herman keeps his right arm extended to keep distance. Nogueira tags Herman and drops him! In side control now. Nogueira locks in an Americana, but uses it to mount and doesn't finish it. Herman gives up his back. Nogueira has an armbar, and Herman has locked his arms to block it! Nogueira loses position, and they are back to their feet. Nice jab by Minotauro. Nogueira with a body lock, but Herman takes Minotauro down. Herman is in half-guard. Herman stands up. Good left connects, and then he trips Herman to the ground. Full mount. Another armbar attempt!  He flips over, and then back again. Herman taps!

    Nogueira defeats Herman via submission (armbar) at 4:31 of the second round

    Jiu-jitsu works on everybody, Mr. Herman.

Glover Teixeira vs. Fabio Maldonado

    Round 1

    Maldonado pumps the jab. Teixeira fires a big left and Maldonado is down. He mounts. Teixeira is taking his time and picking his shots. Big ground and pound starting to reign down. Big punches! Powerful! More huge elbows! Arm triangle, and Glover steps over. He survives, but is mounted again. Maldonado is a mess. Relentless ground and pound as Yamasaki watches from above. Maldonado gets back to his feet. Maldonado is just swinging and hoping at this point. Teixeira is teeing off. Does Maldonado's corner have a towel? Maldonado connects with a left! Glover takes him down as the round ends.

    Teixeira takes the fight to the ground immediately. Maldonado is one tough hombre. Maldonado lands a jab. Good body shot by Maldonado. Teixeira with a takedown and takes his back in the process. Maldonado rolls over, and Teixeira is in mount. Huge elbows. Teixeira working to pass in to side control and does. Maldonado gets to half-guard. Yamasaki stands them back up, but stops the bout to allow the doctor to assess Maldonado. The fight continues. Teixeira lands a left. Another left stuns Maldonado.

    The ringside physician shows common sense and stops the fight between the rounds.

    Teixeira defeats Maldonado by TKO (doctor stoppage) at the end of the second round

    A brutal, dominant performance by Teixeira. Maldonado's corner and the referee showed no concerns for his health, but thankfully the doctor stepped in between rounds and called it. That was painful to watch.

Jon Fitch vs. Erick Silva

    Round 1

    Silva looks relaxed. Fitch opens the fight with a low leg kick. Silva goes with a knee but Fitch takes him down, and gets his back. He tries to get up, but Fitch drags him to the ground. Fitch is riding Silva. Fitch peppering Silva with punches. Fitch continues to drag him to the mat every time Silva pops up. Standing arm triangle attempt, but Silva gets out. They separate. Front kick by Silva. Big overhand right lands by Silva! Knee by Silva and he turns his back, but Fitch follows. They are clinched against the fence. Silva unleashes knees in the clinch, and Fitch grabs one and drives him to the fence and takes him down. Fitch drags Silva back down.

    Silva misses a spinning back fist, and eats an uppercut. Silva sweeps the foot and has Fitch on the ground! Fitch reverses, but Silva gets to his feet. Silva unleashing powerful shots. Silva has Fitch's back again, and Fitch separates the hands to get out. Fitch presses Silva against the fence. Fitch drops down, but eats elbows to the midsection from Silva. Fitch tried to take Silva down and missed, and now Silva has Fitch's back again. Both hooks are in and it is under the chin! Fitch has unbelievable submission defense. He is out. Fitch turns in to Silva's guard. Fitch has Silva's back! What a fight this is! Armbar from Fitch, but it wasn't in deep enough!

    Silva eats a right and Fitch puts him on the canvas. Big shots under the arm by Fitch. Silva is eating shots from the bottom, but avoiding a choke. Fitch goes for an arm, but misses it. Silva tries a guillotine! Fitch is out. Incredible fight. Silva keeps going for submissions from the bottom, but Fitch is too keen on what he's doing. Fitch is starting to mug the young prospect. Back to their feet with Fitch landing a knee. Fitch takes Silva back down. Both hooks and in and Silva is flattened out. Punch after punch lands. Silva is eating a lot of shots. Big elbow! There is no reason this fight should not be stopped. Silva trying to cover up, but almost every shot is landing. Silva finally gets up in the final seconds.

    Fitch defeats Silva by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

    What an amazing fight. Worth the price of admission. Silva got pummeled at the end and the fight probably should have been stopped, but the young kid is a true talent and the loss will teach him some valuable lessons. Fitch, on the other hand, reasserts himself alongside the elite at welterweight. One hell of a fight.

Phil Davis vs. Wagner Prado

    Round 1

    Davis staying on the outside early. Davis starting to come forward and pressure Prado. Davis goes in for a takedown, but Prado pushes away. Head kick by Prado is blocked. Davis throws a punch and transitions to the double leg. Davis is all over Prado's back. Prado eats a knee to the belly as he gets back to his feet, and Davis drives Prado back to the mat. Power wrestling from "Mr. Wonderful". Davis with powerful shots on the ground. Prado back to his feet and back to the mat they go.

    Round 2

    Prado trying to keep the fight at distance, but that leaves him out of range to strike. Davis gets it to the mat. Good shots to the body from Davis. They are back up, and Davis connects with a 1-2 combination. Davis dives in and brings Prado back to his back. Davis is in half-guard. Davis moves for an arm triangle, and it is deep. Prado gets out! Anaconda choke and it is all over! Davis looked excellent.

    Davis seemed on point, and did what he needed to do and finished the fight. Prado was outclassed by one of the best fighters in the division. More people need to realize just how good Davis is.

Demian Maia vs. Rick Story

    Round 1

    Maia goes for the takedown right out of the gate, and dumps Story on the mat. Maia working to take his back as Story gets up. Story gets to his feet, but Maia trips him back down. Same thing happens again. Maia has his back. Maia is softening him up with punches. Maia gets his neck and cranks. Blood spurts out of the nose of Story, and he taps out.

    Demian Maia defeats Rick Story via submission (neck crank) at 2:30 of the first round.

    Impressive performance from Maia in his second outing at welterweight. Once he got the fight on the ground he showed his submission acumen. Patience is a virtue for Maia's jiu-jitsu.

Rony Jason vs. Sam Sicilia

    Round 1

    Rony Jason misses a headkick, but Sicilia doesn't rush in to capitalize on it. Rony Jason clocks Sicilia with a left! Sicilia presses forward and gets a takedown. Sicilia backs away briefly, but dives back in to guard. Rony Jason tries for a triangle, but Sicilia gets out of harms way. And here we go with Fernando Yamasaki's moronic stand-ups one more time. He is a very frustrating referee to have in there. Jumping knee by Rony Jason lands in the chest of Sicilia. These two men are exchanging big blows!

    Round 2

    Sicilia pushes forward early in the second round. Sicilia is trying to push the pace of this second round after dropping the first frame. Sicilia lands a right and a leg kick. Good body shot from Rony Jason. Both men are missing on big punches. Rony Jason has a jiu-jitsu tattoo across his back, but shows no interest in using it. Rony Jason catches Sicilia, but he counters right back and tags Rony Jason. Left hand connects by Rony Jason. Rony Jason catches a Sicilia kick and hits him with a straight punch and they hit the mat. Hammerfist after hammerfist by Rony Jason, and Yamasaki steps in to stop the fight!

    Rony Jason defeats Sicilia by TKO at 4:16 of the second round

    A fun brawl. Rony Jason was normally on the winning end of the exchanges, but it was not a performance that puts him in a bigger fight. He still has a lot to improve upon to move up the ranks in the featherweight division.

Gleison Tibau vs. Francisco Trinaldo

    Round 1

    Trinaldo with a lot of movement, but not acting on it. Tibau shoots in on Trinaldo. A quick scramble and Tibau goes for a guillotine, but Trinaldo fights out. Tibau has Trinaldo pressed against the fence. Big uppercut and left from Tibau. Trinaldo throws a kick that Tibau catches. Tibau again takes Trinaldo down, but Trinaldo is quick to his feet. Good knee by Trinaldo, and Tibau answered with a left. Another takedown by Tibau.

    Good jab from Trinaldo early in round two. Trinaldo is throwing haymakers, but they are not landing. Trinaldo lands one of the haymakers, and gets Tibau's back. He has a rear naked choke, but it's not full sunk in. Tibau had a bit of space and gets out of immediate danger. Trinaldo goes to mount and has an arm triangle, but Tibau avoids that submission attempt. Good elbow on the ground by Trinaldo. Tibau surviving on the mat.

    Round 3

    Trinaldo goes swinging for the fences again. They are swinging away and Tibau lands a couple big shots, and then drops for the takedown attempt. He has Trinaldo on his back. Tibau throwing some hammerfists, but there is not a lot of force behind them. Tibau goes to half-guard. Marc Goddard stands them up for no apparent reason. Tibau takes the fight right back to the ground. Tibau passes to half-guard and then right to mount. Tibau goes for an arm triangle, but has yet to tighten it up. He loses it but is back in mount. Big round for Tibau.

    Tibau defeats Trinaldo by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

    A good fight from two quality lightweights. Trinaldo knew he lost the first round and came out swinging, and nearly got the finish. And after losing the second round Tibau controlled the third frame. Good work from both fighters.

Diego Brandao vs. Joey Gambino

    Round 1

    Brandao with a head kick to open the fight, and Gambino caught the leg and tried to take Brandao down from it. After a scramble they are back to their feet. Sidekick by Brandao is blocked. Strong leg kick by Brandao. Good right by Brandao. He is reserved and waiting for his opportunity to explode. Nice leg kick, right hand combination by Gambino. Knee barely connects from Brandao. Brandao takes Gambino down. Brandao is in side control. Tried to move to mount, but Gambino puts him in half-guard. Gambino to full guard. Back to their feet in an action packed first round. Gambino connects with a left.

    Gambino lands a good straight left hand. Brandao drops Gambino with a huge overhand right. Brandao almost has mount, but Gambino working diligently from bottom to regain half-guard. After some ground and pound Gambino nearly gets an armbar, but Brandao pulls out. They are back to their feet. Gambino tries to get a takedown, but Brandao pummels under for the underhooks and prevents the takedown. He reverses position and takes Gambino down. Fernando Yamasaki matches his previous awful stand-up.

    Gambino lands a couple good straight punches. Gambino throws a leg kick that is caught and Brandao clocks him with a stiff punch and sits him down. Brandao does not go to the mat with him and has the referee order him back to his feet. Brandao takes Gambino to the canvas. Gambino goes for a triangle, but Brandao passes to side control. Gambino gets back to half-guard quickly. Fernando Yamasaki hates ground work as evident by another stand-up. Good straight left by Gambino. Brandao calls for cheers as the fight closes.

    Brandao defeats Gambino by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

    Brandao looked excellent tonight. He was more relaxed and paced himself throughout the fight. This was a big step forward for the young prospect.

Sergio Moraes vs. Renee Forte

    Round 1

    Nearly a minute in and the two fighters are sizing each other up. Forte comes in and Moraes switches levels. Moraes working hard for the takedown, but Forte remains upright against the fence. They separate and Forte is out of danger. Moraes with another takedown attempt when Forte comes in, but again Forte shows good takedown defense. Moraes gets Forte down. Moraes goes for his back, but he ends up on the mat as Forte gets to his feet. Moraes barely misses with a left.

    Forte comes in and Moraes changes levels, but he is not close this time. Moraes gets a leg and pushes Forte against the fence. He gets a double and puts Forte down. Forte gets up, but he eats a knee in the process. Forte comes forward again when Moraes switches levels. No takedown this time. Fans growing restless. Referee separates them from the cage as action stalls. Forte with some good shots as the round draws to a close.

    Forte opening up a bit more to start the third. Wild exchange from both men with little connecting. Good straight right by Moraes. Moraes explodes with a takedown attempt and hops on Forte's back. Both hooks are in. Forte is standing with Moraes on his back with a body triangle on. Nearly has the rear naked choke, but Forte fights the hands away. Moraes finishes the choke once Forte goes to the mat to try and shake him off.

    Moraes is quick in his jiu-jitsu attacks, but his striking is putrid. Wasn't much action on the feet, but once Moraes got an opportunity on the ground it was all over.

Luiz Cane vs. Chris Camozzi

    Round 1

    It's Cane who establishes the center of the Octagon first, but Camozzi pushes back and gets away from the cage. Camozzi is throwing, but nothing is landing. Cane has yet to really engage. Cane with a knee and somehow gets Camozzi's back in the process. He takes Camozzi down and gets the hooks in. Cane trying for the rear naked choke, but Camozzi defends well. Camozzi gets back to his feet. Camozzi resumes pushing forward with strikes. Cane keeps going for a right hook but is out of range. Good right from Cane. Answer by Camozzi. Close round.

    Cane continues to try landing strikes from way outside. That will not get it done. Good leg kick from Cane. Cane now using his speed to get away from Camozzi. Brief exchange against the fence. Nice low kick from Camozzi. A solid punch landed by Camozzi as the second round continues to be unimpressive. Camozzi comes forward with a knee and a couple punches. Nothing damaging is landing from either side.

    Nice left from Cane. Cane starting to be a bit more active and landing a little more. It is possible he knows he is down on the scorecards. Camozzi continues to throw a lot, but fails to catch Cane. Not the best fight anyone has ever seen. Cane shoots in for a takedown but that is easily stuffed. Nice body shot from Cane. A solid exchange that Cane gets the better of. Cane shoots in but Camozzi is in no danger of being taken down.

    This was not a very good fight. Lets just leave it at that.

Cristiano Marcello vs. Reza Madadi

    Round 1

    They come face to face during the introductions. Intensity before the fight even begins. Madadi pushing the action, but Marcello doing well striking early. Marcello is connecting with his strikes. Madadi is just out of range as he comes forward with punches. Madadi finally lands a couple good punches. Madadi lands a nice left that backs up Marcello. He gets caught again. Marcello's early success is gone as the round nears its end. Madadi takes Marcello down, but quickly lets him back up. Good way to score points with under a minute remaining.

    Marcello opens up the second with a solid low leg kick. Madadi with a good left. Madadi leans in with a uppercut and follows it up well. They exchange blows against the fence, but its Madadi who lands more with his uppercuts. Marcello lands a bit more at range, and Madadi fires back which forces Marcello to back up. Madadi is throwing to finish. Fantastic right from Madadi. Big exchanges at close range and Marcello takes off wobbling but will not give in. Madadi with another takedown with a minute left in the round. Fernando Yamasaki with a horrendous stand-up. That's MMA refereeing. Marcello closes the round firing around, but I don't think its enough to steal the second frame.

    Madadi lands a solid jab early in round three. Madadi with a takedown early on. Marcello goes for a triangle and Madadi has enough of the ground game. Madadi is the fighter constantly pushing the pace. Spinning back kick and Madadi takes a bow which garners instant boos from the crowd. Madadi lands a few that makes Marcello turn away, but he responds with a knee. Marcello starting to push the pace now and the crowd comes alive. Both fighters are tired. They will head to the scorecards.

    I do not think the decision was particularly bad. The first round was close, but a 30-27 score is ridiculous.
