NFL Week 6 Picks: Can't-Miss Predictions for This Weekend's Games

Mike HoagJun 3, 2018

If one thing is certain, it’s that nothing is certain in the NFL. On any given Sunday—or Thursday as seen this week—anything can, and will, happen.

That’s why they play the games. That’s why the NFL is still in money making business. It’s the drama and the unpredictability that keeps things entertaining.

However, there are those things that you feel deep down that just have to and will happen.

Week 6 has several of these intriguing matchups.

The Atlanta Falcons Will Become 6-0

Atlanta has struggled to run the football consistently despite having Michael Turner in its backfield. It hasn’t mattered, though, because Matt Ryan—aka Matty Ice—has put his team on his shoulders and lit up the stat-sheet through the first five weeks to lead the Falcons to an unbeaten mark.

Speaking of running the football poorly, the Oakland Raiders are dead last in the NFL in that category with only 60.8 yards per game. The Raiders defense is being beaten up by air and the ground, and it will face its toughest challenge yet in the Atlanta Falcons.

Look for the hosting, unbeaten Falcons to extend their season opening winning streak to six games.

Winless Cleveland Will Finally Get in the Win Column

The Cleveland Browns have played competitively in each of their first five games—all of which have resulted in a loss. There are no awards or prizes for coming in second place or for giving it your best effort.

You are what your record is.

On Sunday, the winless Browns will host the Cincinnati Bengals in a rematch of Week 2’s “Battle of Ohio.” This time, they’ll have Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden lining up in the secondary. He alone won’t be able to stop the poor tackling and abuse his unit has taken, but he’ll be able to help stop the bleeding.

The Bengals are coming off of a huge let down against the Miami Dolphins in Week 5 and are ripe for the picking for a motivated and winless Browns team.

Tim Tebow Cries Will Shut Down Twitter

Mark Sanchez has continued to struggle without the help of any type of rushing game and the injuries to his receiver to blame.

The former physical and punishing offensive line of the Jets has been unable to impose its will at the point of attack and its cost the team its identity so far.

Then there’s the whole Tim Tebow mania that is biting at his heels at every waking moment. It’s only a matter of time before Sanchez cracks.

A conference loss to the Andrew Luck-led Indianapolis Colts would send the Jets to a 2-4 start and could be the tipping point for a mass call for his head.

That would begin the Tebow era in New York and everything would be right in the world. Good conquers evil, the whole nine yards.
