Wrestlemania Rumours

I should state, although I do watch Wrestling when I get a chance, I am not a huge huge fan, so forgive me if I get a few things wrong. However, a friend is. So much so that he writes for one of the biggest Wrestling magazines in the world at the minute.

So generally has some good access into what is going on, and even counts many wrestlers as personal friends (Jay Lethal being one of them).  He obviously can't say anything, as he's part of the whole secrecy pact that Vince promotes, in the inner (ish) circle, but he does generally throw quite a few hints my way. 

I thought they may be of some interest. I should state, these aren't fact, or in any way done deals. They may not even happen. Just ideas being thrown about for Wrestlemania.

Firstly, the Orton/HHH feud. I'm not certain, but the impression I have been given is that it's a set-up for some sort of screw-job finale, involving Vince and Stephanie. We are being led to believe that Orton injured Vince, and Stephanie, Shane, HHH are looking for payback.

I've been led to believe that Stephanie could actually, potentially be in league with Orton, and the climax of the feud could be the screwing of Vince, Triple H, and Shane, and Stephanie taking over WWE in league with Orton's stable.

Secondly, the Jericho storyline.

From what I've been told Jericho will continue bullying HOF fighters, until he gets to his Wrestlemania opponent. Basically, someone will step in to represent the HOF fighters, against Jericho. I've been told this could potentially be either Stone Cold Steve Austin or Hulk Hogan.

Stone Cold is in his HOF year, and wants to wrestle, so it could happen. Hogan is also looking to wrestle in the event somewhere.

Thirdly, Hogan vs. Austin is also being talked about. It may be a long shot, but it has been discussed, apparently. They may not actually meet, but their paths may cross somewhere in the event.

I've been told that it's wanted as Austin's HOF bout, he has been requesting. The only problem being, Austin and Hogan hate each other, and have so far refused to work with each other. Money could solve this, on Hogan's part.

He realises it's Austin's year, and he won't be "the main man" in the bout, but he wants a big contract from it, and so far Vince has refused to pay. One telling sign is that Hogan has recently had a back tweak (minor surgery) to get him into wrestling shape. Beit via Wrestlemania, or early next year, Hogan will probably be full time in the WWE in '09.

Finally, another strong hint I've had is that Austin and McMahon will team up somehow at the event. In a sort of switcheroo, the two nemeses will come together, in their hour of need, and help each other.

I think the most likely scenario is that Austin will rush the ring, and save McMahon at the end of Wrestlemania, after the supposed screw from Stephanie, Orton. It's a heavily rumoured ending. Austin saving McMahon, in his HOF year, and the two embracing.
