Rock Hard NBA Locks

David AlenMar 9, 2009

Everyone has "Stone Cold" lead pipe locks, so I'm here to tell you that my locks are: ROCK HARD!!!

This is not a gambling article this is just a way to test my sports acumen. Basically what I'm saying is...I'm blindly guessing and hopefully some will be right.

Six games tonight in the NBA and lets begin right at Home.

DENVER NUGGETS VS GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS, NBA

Chicago Bulls vs Miami Heat

Dwyane Wade has been amazing lately and if you were to watch Sportscenter they would make it seem like he only goes off when he plays Lebron James. This is not the case.

Wade has just completed an amazing run of games that would make him the front-runner for the NBA MVP if he played on a team that got any attention. Unfortunately for D-Wade everyone still thinks Miami sucks and ESPN has a hard-on for Lebron. Miami will get past Chicago tonight 97-93

New Orleans Hornets vs Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks have had one of the more surprising seasons thus far. Surpassing everyone's expectations of them. Yeah they made the playoffs last year but they won less than 40 games!

They currently hold the fourth seed in the East and they have the Miami Heat breathing down their necks. Tonight is a big game for them but the Hornets have won seven straight. That winning streak is fools gold and the Hawks win at home 101-96.

Orlando Magic vs Detroit Pistons

Last week Allen Iverson got hurt and Michael Curry had to start Rip Hamilton. Guess what happened?

The Pistons got better! They ran off four straight wins before losing to the Hawks last Saturday.

Bad news for the lower seeds in the Eastern Conference. If the Pistons go on an any extended run they could find themselves in the 4th seed with an easy first round match-up. However the Magic come into the Palace after beating the Celtics in Boston (w/o Rondo and Garnett) to close the gap between them to a game. So big game for both teams but the Pistons are a bad match-up for the Magic and I see Detroit winning 90-84.

Washington Wizards vs Minnesota Timberwolves

The only reason to watch this game is for the emergence of Kevin Love. Since Al Jefferson went down Love has had to step it up and he has done just that.

Minnesota wins because they are at home 88-80.

Houston Rockets vs Denver Nuggets

A potential first round match-up. The Rockets have been playing a lot better since T-Mac went down with injury and surprisingly they have held steady.

This might be the first time in a while that the Rockets might actually make it out of the first round and how ironic they will do it without Mcgrady. Rockets steal one in the mile-high city 106-99.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Portland Trailblazers

I think out of all the teams in the NBA the Blazers might have the brightest future. They are young, athletic, blah, blah, blah. That does not help them tonight as the Lakers come into town with the NBA's best record.

Brandon Roy versus Kobe Bryant is always an intriguing match-up because Roy has the size and athleticism to keep up with Kobe. Kobe though will prove to much as the Lakers will continue to roll 110-97.
