Amy Poehler Would Ask Terrell Owens...Really?!! Buffalo? Really?

Glenn LutyMar 7, 2009

Sorry about the photo, I didn't have rights to any SNL or Buffalo Bills pictures of my own so i used what was available.

Anyway, after my speculation and ESPN's for that matter about who Terrell Owens would sign with. We got our answer in the form of a stumper.

And the man called T.O. will sign with...

Buffalo??? Really???

Buffalo wasn't even in the forecast of who we all thought Mr. Owens would sign with. In fact, it doesn't even make sense in the least.  My only speculation could be is that Drew Rosenhaus was just talking big about just how many teams were interested when in fact only a few probably were.

Now I'm not trying to disrespect the Buffalo Bills because i think they are an OK team that has some potential. Good solid defense and an uneven offense. Trent Edwards has great moments and if he can stay healthy he'll have a great season.

But then there is the case of possibly losing the cornerstone of the entire offense...Marshawn Lynch. Lynch pleaded guilty on weapons charges, and I am pretty sure Roger Goodell will have a nice suspension lined up for him.

And with this in mind a light bulb went off in my head.

Now doesn't it make sense that if Buffalo knows they are going to lose their biggest offensive weapon to suspension they would want to go out and hire T.O. to pick up some of that slack. There. Interesting coincidence.

And if this is indeed what has transpired, I feel bad for the coaching staff of Buffalo, because I'm sure he's a nice guy, but I seriously don't think Dick Jauron has what it takes to coach Terrell Owens.

We also all know how the Bills organization is suffering, in fact they are the only team to have to play in Canada to sell tickets. With the economy the way it is maybe T.O. is a ploy to try and get more butts in the seats. Seems reasonable.

Owens said in a statement that he weighed the offense and the defense and it seemed like a logical choice. But to be honest with you I think Owens weighed the paycheck over the prospect of actually winning the Super Bowl.

In fact, Owens only mentions getting to the playoffs in his statement.

I think it's an awful shame that a reputation that used to be great at the beginning of your career in San Francisco where you thanked God for your ability and were gracious to your mentor Jerry Rice, to being one of the most unwanted players in the entire league.

People envy your talent but are disgusted at your character so you have to settle with retiring in Buffalo. Which would be fine had you actually wanted to play there.

Now I know some may say...wait, it's only a one-year contract. Tomorrow's never guaranteed. I think that's something everyone should remember.
