Norwich City: 4 Things the Canaries Need to Do to Beat Chelsea

James KentJun 7, 2018

There is no doubt that Norwich City face a very difficult task when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. But in football, strange things can happen.

Chelsea go into this game as massive favorites. However, the Canaries are arguably in greater need of a result and Chris Hughton needs to start winning games to avoid getting the sack.

An Improved Defensive Performance

In a short time, we have learned that Sebastien Bassong is crucial to Norwich maintaining a solid defense. But whoever plays at the back must play well, defend like they did against Liverpool or we can forget about anything other than a comfortable Chelsea win.

Take Any Chances That Are Created

Norwich have created plenty of chances this season and could have won most games had they been more clinical. Both Grant Holt and Steve Morison were among the goal scorers against Liverpool, so there is hope that we will see a more ruthless Norwich City against Chelsea.

Get Alexander Tettey, Wes Hoolahan and David Fox in the Team

I honestly believe that the midfield trio are the key to Norwich City winning games. They all have different qualities to offer, but together they have all the options we need.

If the Canaries can start dominating the midfield area, things could improve very quickly.

Take the Game to Chelsea

I am not a fan of defensive football, and I don't feel it has a useful purpose in most situations. So it would great to see Norwich having a real go at Chelsea, and see what happens.

This is where the Canaries are strong—sitting back and soaking up pressure has never been our game.
