The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have lost eight consecutive games, making them virtually automatic fades vs. just about anyone as favorites at this time, including the South Florida Bulls. Sure, South Florida is just 9-20 overall and 4-13 in Big East play, but at least they have proven capable of rising up against better competition now and then and they continue to play hard every game. This was apparent in a 70-59 win over an 18-win Cincinnati team on Tuesday, and also do not forget that their previous Big East win came vs. nationally ranked Marquette! Granted, those wins were spaced out, but that is still more than can be said for a Rutgers team that is a measly 1-16 inside the conference with the lone win coming vs. a DePaul team that is winless vs. the Big East. The Knights have not found much consolation playing here at home either, as they are 1-7 straight up while losing by an average of -7.1 points vs. conference foes.
