WWE '13: Attitude Era Superstars We Can't Wait to Control
With the release of the latest installment in the World Wrestling Entertainment’s video game series, WWE '13, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30, the excitement over the Attitude Era edition of the game and its CM Punk cover has the WWE Universe at a fever pitch
This is arguably the most anticipated release in the history of wrestling video games.
While the game play has been overhauled and the career modes have been improved, the real hype surrounding this game is based on the roster. The emphasis this year on Attitude Era stars will have WWE fans nostalgia popping from dusk ’til dawn.
Of all the possible characters who fans can use this year, the following are the superstars the WWE Universe can’t wait to get their hands on.
For the full roster, check out WWE 13's official page.
Chris Jericho
1 of 5While many WWE fans now just think of Chris Jericho as the whiny guy with the light-up jacket who loses all the time, there was a time not too long ago when he was the biggest star in the wrestling industry.
As the first Undisputed WWF Champion in history and a huge part of the last 15 years in wrestling, there is no doubt that Jericho has earned his way into this game and back into our hearts.
With Jericho’s inclusion in WWE '13, the WWE Universe gets a second chance to fall in love with the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla all over again.
The Three Faces of Foley
2 of 5Of all the players added to this year’s edition of the game, no star comes with more options than wrestling legend Mick Foley.
No matter which role you loved Foley in the most—Cactus Jack, Mankind or Dude Love—the WWE Universe now has the opportunity to control all of his characters in the video game.
Tell me you wouldn’t love playing as Mankind against the Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match?
The Road Warriors
3 of 5With the recent hype around Daniel Bryan and Kane, WWE fans have refreshed images of a time when tag team wrestling was important; a time when the Road Warriors dominated the WWE and beyond.
The duo of Hawk and Animal were arguably the greatest tag team of all time, and they dominated the wrestling business for years with their huge size, colorful face paint and menacing shoulder pads.
If WWE '13 gets this right, playing as the Road Warriors is going to be amazing.
The Rock
4 of 5The best part of The Rock’s character now is that he isn’t just an Attitude Era star anymore; he also still wrestles and has become part of the PG Era, whether his fans want to admit it or not.
No matter what generation of wrestling fans you come from, you will enjoy The Rock in all his unbridled video games splendor. Attitude Era fans, rejoice!
From Rock Bottoms to People’s Elbows, the WWE Universe will be able to play as the man who will lose to John Cena at this year’s WrestleMania. Once in a Lifetime: Part 2.
Stone Cold Steve Austin
5 of 5The character every WWE fan should be looking forward to playing the most is none other than the Texas Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin.
No man personified the Attitude Era more than Stone Cold, and most of the great memories the fans hold dear from those years came from the mind or hand of this superstar.
Between the mic skills, the stunner and the beer drinking, Austin was biggest star in WWE history.
Now fans of all ages can relive the greatest moments in history with the greatest superstar who ever stepped into a WWE ring. That’s the bottom line ‘cause…well, you know.
