NBA 2K13: Added Features That Make This Year's Game a Must-Own

With 2K Sports set to release one of the most anticipated NBA video games of all time on October 2, it's time to break down some of the added features that make this year's NBA 2K13 a must-own. 

From gameplay to the various customizable modes, NBA 2K13 sets the bar high when it comes to basketball simulators.

Let's take a closer look at some of the additions that have us thrilled for the release of NBA 2K13 this fall.

The Control Stick

A feature in the old NBA Live video games that I always enjoyed was the right analog stick controlling players' dribble moves and crossovers, while the left controlled the movement. NBA 2K has brought that into their game this year for NBA 2K13.

You're no longer forced to move your player around the court and crossover with the same analog stick, which never made much sense to begin with. Sure, this added feature will take some getting used to for hardcore NBA 2K fans, but once you get the hang of it, the sky is the limit.

Having tinkered with the demo and played with this feature, I can tell you that it's not that difficult to adjust to, and certainly makes the game feel much smoother than in recent years. 

MyTEAM

The new MyTEAM mode adds an entirely new element of customization to this year's game. Gamers can collect NBA superstars, their favorite uniforms and arenas to build their very own NBA team.

Make your own Dream Team or just get your favorite NBA ballers together on the same squad. Whatever route you decide to take, you'll have the ability to take your team online and face off against other MyTEAMS for bragging rights. 

If you're an EA Sports fan who has been clamoring for an Ultimate Team mode in an NBA game, you'll be jumping for joy this October. 

MyCAREER Overhaul

NBA 2K's MyCAREER mode has always been an enjoyable experience because of the personalization factor, but in NBA 2K13, it's so much deeper.

This year's game features additions like endorsement options and clothing customization from pregame attire to street swag. You can also sit down with your team's general manager if the time is right.

You have to love the Jay-Z production element.

The attention to detail in NBA 2K13 makes it one of the best sports video games out there. If you're a diehard NBA fan and have the time and energy to navigate all this year's edition has to offer, this game is a must-add to your collection.
