NBA 2K13 Player Ratings: Underrated Stars You'll Love to Control
NBA fans and video game lovers alike are counting the hours, minutes and seconds until 2K Sports releases the latest version of its super popular basketball video game, NBA 2K13.
This year's edition is slated to be released on October 2 in North America, and was produced by rapper and icon Jay-Z, which only adds to the appeal.
Although most people will look to drop 50 with Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant soon after throwing down the cash and tearing through the plastic, there are several stars who will be every bit as entertaining to play with.
Here we highlight some underrated stars that you'll wind up loving to control in NBA 2K13.
Josh Smith, Player Rating: 87
Atlanta Hawks star Josh Smith is the ideal video game baller. Not only can he light up the scoreboard with a variety of offensive skills, but you can use him to embarrass your opponent by throwing down a series of high-flying dunks.
Although the jams in NBA 2K13 are quite realistic, Smith is the one guy out there who will make them look like they were aided by a Hollywood special effects crew.
If you're someone who loves to go coast to coast with a rebound and look to score, Smith is your guy. He is phenomenal rebounder by default because of his height, but possesses a handle solid enough to turn into a one-man band.
Steve Nash, Player Rating: 87
The maestro of the hardwood, Steve Nash is a gamer's dream. His real-life flashy passes translate beautifully to NBA 2K13 and make controlling him more fun than running the offense with any other point guard in the game.
Nash is also a deadly accurate shooter, which makes him a favorite among those who prefer to bomb away from outside like yours truly.
Defensively, you're not going to have a great time with Nash. He doesn't block shots, or rack up steals like Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo. Instead, the new L.A. Lakers floor general is a creator with a never-ending ability to score.
Sounds like a video game star to me.
Manu Ginobili, Player Rating: 86
Although some would argue that Tony Parker is the most important player to the San Antonio Spurs, one could easily make the case for why Manu Ginobili deserves team MVP honors.
A great scorer, tremendous passer and a player who never stops hustling, Ginobili's intangibles don't always translate to NBA 2K13, but his creativity and wizardry certainly do, making him an underrated star to control.
If you love dodging defenders with Euro steps and utilizing spin moves on each and every possession then Ginobili is the player for you. Not to mention he can knock down the three and throw down the occasion jaw-dropping dunk.
Ginobili's arsenal of offensive moves make him an all-around fun player to control in NBA 2K13.
