2012 PPR Fantasy Football Week 4: Wide Receivers (WR) Rankings

Sean E. DouglasJun 2, 2018

While Percy Harvin has yet to find the end zone, he is averaging nine receptions and just over 90 yards per game. Last week was a big performance for Christian Ponder, the type of win that should get some of the doubters in the fanbase off his back for the time being.

Ponder can be a successful starting quarterback and really hasn’t played all that bad through three games. Harvin will continue to benefit if the second-year quarterback continues to develop and this week is a terrific matchup for Harvin against a floundering Lion secondary.

Who cares from a fantasy perspective? Because Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker will be just fine with what Manning has flashed thus far. Some were worried about Decker’s fantasy prospects after two sub-average performances, but he bounced back with a big game against the Texans.

Both will be WR2 options throughout the season and for the most part, should be considered matchup proof as Manning will keep this offense productive, even during the tough times.

Stevie Johnson’s Hot Start

After prolonged groin problems kept him out of practices and on the injury report last season, Johnson finally had surgery in the spring. Through the preseason I was down on Johnson, mainly because he continued to have problems with his groin.

I hope I don’t jinks him, but over the past two weeks Johnson has been in practice and off the injury report. This is great news, and another terrific matchup against the Patriots should make him a WR1 start this week. It appears the Bills meltdown in Week 1 was just that, and they’ve bounced back in the last two weeks. Johnson should be fine (knock on wood) so get him in the lineup.
