Here's the Real Reason the Dallas Cowboys Cut Terrell Owens

Andy SimpsonMar 5, 2009

Clowns don't sell tickets, seat licenses, or advertising. Clowns sell hamburgers and balloons.

The clown on the right of this picture does his job well. The clown in the middle apparently does not.

The Cowboys didn't release Terrell Owens because of his performance on the field or his antics off the field. Don't you think Owens would have been released two months ago for poor performance or divisiveness in the locker room?

No, the truth is something you have no idea about. The real truth resides with the only member of the Cowboys staff allowed to speak to reporters: Jerry Jones.

Jerry Jones released Terrell Owens because he's having trouble selling his new stadium. Not enough seats and advertising have been sold, so Jerry created a popular controversy to get the Cowboys back in the news.

The Terrell Owens Experience had reached the tipping point. So many Cowboys fans have decided that they will no longer spend money to watch a player they can't stand.  Jerry can't afford to turn the new stadium into his personal money pit.

The fans of Dallas won a battle against bad management today. They refused to help pay for Jerry's new stadium, and he had to accept their demands. Cowboys fans should have a party in Dallas today.

Maybe there's a certain clown who could use a little work.
