Packers vs. Seahawks: Breaking Down Monday's Marquee Matchup
While all Monday Night Football games are exciting just based on the fact that we get the NFL on a work day, this week’s meeting between the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks will be amazing.
This may look like an easy win for the Packers, but the Seahawks have one of the toughest defenses in the NFL. Add in the advantage of being in Seattle’s building, and Green Bay isn’t a sure bet anymore

What We’re Watching
The 12th Man
There is no louder stadium in the NFL than the one you’ll find with CenturyLink Field in Seattle; they truly have a 12th man supporting them every time they enter that building.
As unique an atmosphere as there is in the Seattle, the Packers know exactly how to handle a wild environment; last time I checked, Lambeau Field was no cake walk for opposing teams either.
While Rodgers is a talented enough quarterback to overcome the crowd noise, the impact it will have on an offense that depends heavily on audibles is undeniable. Seattle needs every edge they can get, and the homefield advantage is certainly that.
Russell Wilson vs. Aaron Rodgers
While this isn’t an actual matchup we’ll see on the field, the battle of polar-opposite quarterbacks Monday night is one of the most intriguing battles of the game.
The rookie, Wilson, has looked good through his first two NFL starts, but he will be outclassed by the NFL veteran on Monday night. As long as Wilson protects the ball and uses his feet to keep a few drives alive, though, the Seahawks will never be out of contention in this game.
As for Rodgers, NFL defenses have been playing the Packers differently by adding more safety help deep to counteract the Green Bay pass attack. If he can overcome the new concept, Rodgers will steal the show and win the game.
Prediction
Green Bay Packers 27, Seattle Seahawks 17
The Green Bay organization must find out why their offense is sputtering and fix it fast if they want to beat the tougher-than-expected Seahawks Monday night.
Seattle’s defense is 13th against the pass and second against the run; that’s bad news for a Packers offense trying to get back on the right track.
The Seahawks won’t have it any easier, as Clay Matthews and the Green Bay defensive unit have found their stride. If Russell Wilson is anything less than 100 percent, the Packers will walk out of Seattle victorious.
