San Francisco at Minnesota

Over/Under: 43; Spread: San Francisco (-6.5)

As much as Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson’s story of recovery from knee surgery is awe inspiring, he will mount no substantial attack against the stingy San Francisco 49ers defense. With Frank Gore and Alex Smith keeping the first-down chains moving, San Fran will control the clock and dominate this game. Take the under and the 49ers giving the points.

Detroit at Tennessee

Over/Under: 47.5; Spread: Tennessee (+3.5)

While the Detroit Lions have looked far from perfect so far in 2012, the Tennessee Titans are an absolute mess. With no running game at all—Chris Johnson has 21 yards on 19 carries—and a rookie quarterback, Tennessee couldn’t expose Detroit’s mediocre defense if they wanted to. Take the over here and Detroit giving up 3.5.

Pittsburgh at Oakland

Over/Under: 45.5; Spread: Oakland (+3.5)

Despite the Pittsburgh Steelers' lack of a real NFL offensive line, they are still light years ahead of anything they are doing in Oakland. With Darren McFadden stifled in the backfield and Carson Palmer playing without receivers, the Steelers will destroy Oakland in the Black Hole. For this matchup, take the under and Pittsburgh giving up the points.

Upset Specials

Kansas City at New Orleans

Over/Under: 53; Spread: New Orleans (-9)

While no one can imagine the lowly Kansas City Chiefs traveling to New Orleans to beat the Saints, there is a reason Drew Brees and the boys are 0-2. If the Chiefs’ defense can win the turnover battle, Kansas City will be in this game throughout. The Saints may win the game outright, but Kansas City will cover the spread. Take the over and the Chiefs +9.

Cincinnati at Washington

Over/Under: 49.5; Spread: Washington (-3)

The hype over the Washington Redskins is through the roof, but the Cincinnati Bengals are one of the most underrated teams in the league. After a slow start, the Bengals bounced back and will keep the momentum going. As great as Robert Griffin III will be, Cincinnati’s defense will rattle him early and throw him off his game. Take the over here and the Bengals with the points.

Green Bay at Seattle

Over/Under: 45; Spread: Seattle (+3)

As amazing as the Green Bay Packers’ offense has been over the last two years, Seattle’s tough defense and amazing crowd will keep the Packers off the same page all game. Add in the tough-running backs from the Seahawks that can pick apart an overrated Green Bay defense, and you have a serious upset special. Take the over and ride with Seattle and three points in their home stadium.
