Boogyman Gone: The WWE Releases Top ECW Superstar
In 2008, there were over 50 releases from the WWE. There were superstars, of course. But behind the scenes guy like lighting, audio, road agents, and referees were given the axe too. They even went as far as to release two of Vince McMahon's limo drivers.
We all know the economy went south in 2008, but 2009 looked to be pretty good.
They even went out and hired a top name in Christian Cage. They have another top diva in Gail Kim making her WWE return on SmackDown soon.

But now, word is that they have released another name. This one coming as a surprise to me.
The Boogyman was released today. It came as a shock to me as we saw him in action last night on ECW.
He had been a crowd favorite and made a pretty good impact since his return. The problem is that he had missed tons of time before. We barely saw him last year, and he had not once been in a great match.
He really faced lower mid-card guys, when his gimmick and wrestling ability deserved so much more. While I was watching him last night, I was wondering why the WWE has not pushed him to a title match yet.
He is a powerful superstar and the crowd loves him. Why not?
Boogyman deserved to be pushed. If he had been, then you would not have to release him because he would have made an impact.
Of course we saw surprising names released last year too, like Ashley, Torrie Wilson, and Bobby Lashley to name a few. Then they keep others who suck. Oh well.
The WWE did release Boogyman in 2006, but then he was quickly rehired. This could be the same scenario, but I doubt it.
But as of now, his profile has been removed from the ECW Roster, which he was a part of. As always, the WWE wishes him well in all of his future endeavors.
But I think if TNA is smart, they will go out and quickly pick him up.
This is possible because he is good friends with TNA's Booker T, who can pull a few strings.
I see him getting a tryout if the WWE does not re-hire him. Boogy could be a big name there, but I do not see him keeping his gimmick in TNA. I am not sure if he came up with it or not.
If he did then you could easily see that in TNA. If not, then the WWE owns the gimmick and he could not use it in TNA.
I guess we will have to see.
I know he will not quit wrestling. He is good in the ring to me, but we barely got to see him against good competition. When we did, he impressed.
So like I said, Jeff Jarrett better be the next call Boogy gets.
