Female High School Kicker Gets Epic Helicopter Homecoming Proposal
Here is a classic tale of boy meets girl, and then boy subsequently asks his dad to drop off an invitation by helicopter.
A female high school kicker received one of the most epic homecoming invitations of all time, and it may be one of the most costly as well.
The Washington Post (h/t Yahoo News) reports a bizarre moment in the history of boys asking girls to go with them to homecoming.
If memory serves, the correct way is to beat around the bush for a few days and then awkwardly ask your crush if they want to go to the dance.
This boy allegedly had his dad drop the invite from a helicopter. Now, the boy's father has some 'splaining to do, via Yahoo News:
"...a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) pilot apparently flew his helicopter over a high school football field in northern Virginia to drop a stuffed animal that carried an invitation to the dance from his son to a girl.
"
That certainly beats the phone call I used for my high school sweetheart. Had my father used a helicopter, I may have had more luck with the ladies back in the day.
Well, not so much.
It seems U.S. CBP officials are now looking into the matter and have grounded dear 'ol dad to a desk job until their investigation is over. A lesson to pilots out there—just say no to your son's pleas.
Oops.
At least sonny boy got to deliver a piece of history to this high school. There is no way the 17-year-old girl who was asked, Victoria Burress, wasn't impressed.
Well, it seems that Burress, who also happens to play for the soccer team and is the kicker on the football team, was flattered but still keeps a friend-zone distance between herself and her buddy, the pilot's son. Here is what Burress had to say:
"He knew it was my senior year, and I've been asked some pretty creative ways before this. Everyone thinks that we like each other, but it's not like that at all. It's just unusual to be that close with a guy and to have him still do something nice for you.
"
Friend zone notwithstanding, the boy's helicopter invitation was quite the hit with his fellow students. While his name is being withheld at the moment, the report did get this quote from him: "Just wait and see what I have in store for prom."
Not sure if he is counting on dad being lifted from his current "administrative duties," or if his mom pilots a space shuttle.
Either way, Burress better look to the skies around prom time.
