Week 3 Waiver Wire: Top Targets Around the League Worth Claiming

Week 2 of the NFL season isn’t over yet, but standard fantasy leagues have waiver claims going through late on Tuesday night.

If you aren’t going to have time—or simply don’t want to forget—make sure you set your potential claims as soon as possible, before it is too late.

Here is a look at some players you should strongly consider adding in Week 3 to your fantasy squad.

WR Brandon LaFell, Carolina Panthers

The Panthers wideout was a huge sleeper this season and has lived up to that billing.

In two games, the No. 2 WR has racked up nine receptions for 155 yards and a touchdown on 13 targets.

That is good for ninth among all receivers in fantasy points, and a large reason why you must put a claim on him immediately.

LaFell is only going to get better as Cam Newton gets more comfortable throwing the third-year receiver the ball.

 

TE Scott Chandler, Buffalo Bills

“Red Zone” Chandler seems to only come out to play when it counts.

He’s got six receptions for 91 yards through two games, but has already scored two touchdowns.

Chandler racked up six scores in 2011 and should definitely improve this season, as Ryan Fitzpatrick has no better target in the red zone than the big tight end.

If your TE isn’t producing or was injured—like Aaron Hernandez was in Week 2—put a claim in on the Bills big man.

 

K Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens

Tucker has been a revelation in Baltimore and should be for your fantasy team as well.

He’s connected on all six of his field goal attempts (five from beyond 40 yards!) in 2012 and looks to be one of those automatic kickers that will be around for a long, long time.

If your league rewards accuracy and deep kicks, make a strong play to land the Ravens PK.

There is simply no one better and he just might end up being the top scoring kicker in all of fantasy this season.
