FIFA 13: Lionel Messi and Most Coveted Player Cards in Ultimate Team

Brian MaziqueMay 31, 2018

The virtual card spin on fantasy drafts known as Ultimate Team has really caught on with the FIFA gaming community. There are several video series on YouTube dedicated to the mode in FIFA 12, and with the release of FIFA 13 just around the corner, anticipation is high for the newest game.

FIFA 13 releases for Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 25.

Ultimate Team returns, and with FIFA 13 keeping track of stars performance throughout the season, some players are sure to be among the most coveted player cards around.

Here is a list of player cards that could give your Ultimate Team a huge boost.

Xavi

1 of 5

He doesn't put a ton of goals on the board, but if you want a player that is immaculate in maintaining possession and passing, then Xavi is your guy.

Every real-life team and virtual one needs a player like this. He's a glue-guy for your Ultimate Team, just like he is for Barcelona.

Cristiano Ronaldo

2 of 5

Ronaldo hasn't been quite as efficient thus far this season. He has two goals in four games, but he's taken 26 shots. He's missed opportunities this season similar to the way he missed some chances in Euro 2012.

Still, he's among the best in the world and gamers should be thrilled to receive him in a pack.

Carlos Tevez

3 of 5

Tevez has shined for Manchester City this season. He's scored three goals in just four games and grouped in three assists as well.

Tevez has been very efficient—he's produced these results in just 14 shots.

He's one of the most balanced players in the world and a definite asset in Ultimate Team.

Robin van Persie

4 of 5

RVP has been as advertised since coming over to Manchester United from Arsenal. He's scored four goals in four games, and he's been extremely aggressive.

He has 13 shots, and the popularity he gained during his transfer drama doesn't hurt his appeal either.

He's a true star, even though some Arsenal fans may sell his Ultimate Team card immediately after receiving it.

Lionel Messi

5 of 5

You have to have the cover guy, right? It doesn't hurt that he's the world's best player, either. Messi continues to back up his status as the face of the sport.

He has scored six goals this season in only four games. He has an assist and he's applied continuous pressure to the opposition with 23 shots.

It is difficult for a player to be this celebrated and not be a little overrated. However, Messi is really that good. If you open a pack and see Messi's mug you should celebrate.
