The Assassin's Latest Gripe: Big Show In, John Cena Out Of Wrestlemania?

Joe Burgett Mar 3, 2009

For a while now, we have seen B/R Writer Shane Howard write an article every once in a while with him talking about his latest Gripe. I, for one, like the title, but since we are the Assassins, it is time to Assassinate it somewhat.

So let's get started

Ever since Edge won the World Heavyweight Championship at No Way Out, the idea was that John Cena would be getting his rematch at Wrestlemania 25. Sure, you may not be a fan of Cena, but you figured it would happen, right?

Well I, aswell as every other WWE fan thought it would, too. But this past week a curveball was thrown at us. John Cena took on Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship on RAW last night.

It was a great match, and I felt it was a cool thing to see. Plus the fans loved it because RAW was in Boston. Cena is from West Newberry, which, as Edge said, is not to far from Boston.

He claimed he was planning all along to face Cena there for the Title, but that may be a little off. But in any case we saw the Title match last night. As I mentioned, it was a good match, that was until the end of course.

Cena had Edge up for the Attitude Adjustment after he ran in with the World Title in hand to get an "Edge" (excuse the pun). As he did, Edge hit him with the Title and got out with the World Title.

As we all know Cena won the match, but not the title. That was because a title cannot change hands on a DQ. But then to my surprise, The Big Show came out, and was then followed by Vickie Guerrero.

Guerrero then came out to say Show was the new No. 1 Contender for the Title at Wrestlemania 25. Which would leave John Cena out of Wrestlemania all together.

I feel this is the DUMBEST idea the WWE has ever had. Cena is huge with fans, whether you like him or not, he is known outside of the ring more than even Orton, Jericho, and others.

You say WWE, you may hear Triple H, even the Rock, and Stone Cold. But it will soon be followed by John Cena. Which means his name alone will get viewers into the show. Also he is supposed to be the WWE's No. 1 guy.

Having him out of Mania would be terrible. Now word has it, that he will face Hulk Hogan. This was talked about for a while, but then dismissed after the WWE could not find a place to put Hogan.

Now Hogan is out of Wrestlemania as a wrestler, he may do a promo or something though. I mean it is the 25th anniversary and all, and Hogan did help make it what it is today.

I think if the WWE keep Cena out of the World Title match, then they are completely brain dead. He is a huge cash cow for them, and he has a movie, 12 Rounds, coming out around that time.

Why not put him in the match? You have everything to gain by doing that. If you have to have Show in Wrestlemania, then add Cena to the match. He doesn't have to win of course.

Cena should be in the match to me. Of course it is 50/50 on fans for Cena, you either like him or hate him. We all know he is not the most technical in the ring, but as B/R writer Daris said in the past, if he is not a good Pro-Wrestler, than who is?

He does the same thing everyone else does in the ring. But I can speak for many people when I say I would rather see John Cena face Edge then The Big Show. How boring would that be?

WWE if you see this, please dear God think about what you are doing. You are putting Big Slow against one of the best out there in Edge.

Also please do not put Cena and Hogan in a match at Wrestlemania. Hogan cannot wrestle any more and fans would hate to see it. Seeing Hogan is always cool, but not wrestling.

He doesn't have it anymore, and some say he never did. John Cena deserves the World title match. Heck Edge did get DQed, so Cena did win. Meaning he is the No. 1 Contender by beating Edge.

That is if you make it an official WWE rule. Big Show beat Cena, but it was with a little help of course. But he never beat Edge, Cena did. Also Cena has been screwed over ever since No Way Out.

Vickie as GM of SmackDown is bad enough, and now on RAW she is worse. I feel Cena will still follow Vickie to SmackDown. This week we may see him, and then on RAW I know we will.

Soon I feel Vickie will have to make a match. It will either be John Cena has to beat Big Show, if he does then he goes to Wrestlemania. Or she will make a Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 25.

Either way I feel the WWE is not stupid enough to keep Cena out of a Main Event Title match at Wrestlemania. If they are, then God help them as the kids 18 and under and women bust down the doors of the WWE Headquarters.

This has been the Assassin's Latest Gripe.
