Matt Cassel Is More Overrated Than Melissa from The Bachelor
It seems like just yesterday that Matt Cassel was just as anonymous as that girl Melissa from The Bachelor 13, before she made the reality show.
Now, all of the sudden, both are the best thang smokin'.
Outside of T.J. Housmandzadeh, Cassel doesn't have too much competition right now as far as the most overrated player in the NFL.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In September, the only thing we knew about Cassel was that he hadn't started a football game since high school. Now, when sportsbook odds open up lines for Week One of the NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs will be investing their faith and money in the very same player to lead them on the journey to a Super Bowl.
Six months from his first NFL start, Cassel is making nearly $15 million and the Chiefs are trading away their second round pick for him—isn't that as drastic as marrying a girl you met on a reality TV show?
There's no question that Cassel is a decent player, but Bill Belichick's system has helped a number of players overachieve. Cassel could be the next in that line.
It's hard not to look at Cassel at this point and think Scott Mitchell, or even Matt Schaub on some levels. We simply don't know enough about Cassel to confidently say that he'll be a Pro Bowler, or that he has the skills to take a team to Super Bowl, or that he can be trusted as a franchise quarterback who can carry a team. His resume is too short and his surroundings were too good in New England to jump to that conclusion.
But the Chiefs seem sold. More specifically, their new general manager and former Patriots general manager, Scott Pioli.
Trading with the New England Patriots is always a bad idea. Belichick wouldn't do a homeless person a favor, never mind an NFL team in his own conference.
Move over Tyler Thigpen and Brodie Croyle. It's the Matt Cassel show now in Kansas City.
