WWE News: The Latest on Jerry Lawler After His Heart Attack

After the unfortunate incident that occurred on Monday Night Raw, Jerry Lawler has received a remarkable level of support from friends and family after he collapsed at the announcers table, suffering from what was latest deemed a heart attack.

Since the incident, Jerry Lawler has fought hard, improving his condition more everyday. It seems that in a short matter of time, he'll be doing what he loves—wrestling and commentating.

Outside of the WWE, Jerry Lawler is actively involved with the Memphis Wrestling promotion as well as juggling multiple independent matches a week. Michael Cole even stated that he wrestles between 100-150 times a year, according to PWInsider. This demonstrates that even at 62, he still loves to get in the ring and wrestle.

Today, Jerry Lawler walked for the first time since being hospitalized, and he is in great spirits about his road to recovery, according to his girlfriend Lauryn McBride (h/t Wrestling Inc.). He looks eager to return to the wrestling business.

As far as his in-ring wrestling career goes, doctors reported no signs of brain damage, according to WREG-TV (h/t Wrestling Inc.) and a full recovery is expected. His son Kevin also stated that the doctors "see no reason why he won't be able to wrestle again."

Lawler also posted a video update on Tout where he thanked WWE fans for their support.

Although this is a touchy subject, we must realize that Jerry Lawler has been a mainstay in the wrestling business for over forty years. Wrestling is what he lives for. It is still his passion. I am undoubtedly certain that getting back in the ring is on the forefront of his mind and is helping him propel through the recovery process.

This was a health scare; whether young or old, it could happen to anyone. Remaining moderately active would help his condition more than it would hurt it. Leading a sedentary lifestyle as a result of a heart attack would be worse for him.

As he fully recovers, we should all do what he is evidently doing—looking and moving forward.
