2012 PPR Fantasy Football Week 2: Wide Receivers (WR) Rankings/Projections

Sean E. DouglasJun 7, 2018

With Greg Jennings questionable for Thursday with a groin injury after missing practice Tuesday, look to Randall Cobb as a starting option. Cobb led the Packers with nine receptions last week, and he will be an active part of what Green Bay wants to do weekly. If anything should happen to Jennings or Nelson as the season progresses, it should move Cobb up to low-end WR2 status in PPR leagues.

As for Jennings, we have to be concerned about his recent injury history. Last year he suffered a leg injury late in the season, this offseason he had concussion problems and now he has a groin injury that will likely cost him a game.

Jennings is in the final year of his contract, and while he should still hold WR2 value when on the field, we shouldn’t regard him as a WR1 option going forward.

Green Bay will spread the football around and with Cobb, James Jones, Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley on the field, Jennings may have a hard time catching 80 balls this year.

Dwayne Bowe Needs To Be Involved Early

After a big loss at home, the Chiefs need to establish two things in the offense early against the Bills. First they need to run the football with Charles and Hillis and they also need to get Bowe some receptions. I expected Bowe to come out of the gates slow because of his holdout, but it’s clear this offense needs him to make an impact to win football games.

The Bills were torched in the passing game by Mark Sanchez of all people last week, so Matt Cassel needs to step up and play a good game. Look for Bowe to catch at least five passes in this one and he should find the end zone.
