NFL Locks of the Week: Three Teams Guaranteed to Cover in Week 2
Whether you're betting on a game or not, it's always nice to be able to say to your friends or family that you guarantee a team will cover the spread, and actually wind up having that team pull it off. And at this point, any experienced NFL fan is familiar with the proverbial "Locks of the Week", which are teams that are guaranteed to cover.
Well, here are three NFL teams that will definitely, 100 percent cover the spread in Week 2.
1. HOUSTON TEXANS -7 over Jacksonville Jaguars
1 of 3This one was almost too easy. Yes, the Texans have to face off against the Jaguars on the road, but Jacksonville has perhaps the worst home-field advantage of any team in the NFL. The Texans' offense should literally run right through the Jags' defense. And Matt Schaub will likely decimate the Jaguars' secondary.
The Jags let up 26 points last week against Minnesota. How is there any way that the Texans won't drop at least 30 this week? And with the Jaguars relatively limited offense, there's no way they're scoring more than 17 or so points.
Houston Texans, lock em' in.
2. DALLAS COWBOYS -3 over Seattle Seahawks
2 of 3This one was slightly harder to pick, but Dallas should cover the spread with relative ease. Tony Romo and the gang looked as sharp as ever last Wednesday night, playing almost flawlessly against a very tough Giants defense.
Dallas' defense looks to be coming together nicely as well. It's going to be tough to stop Marshawn Lynch, but with a rookie QB in Russel Wilson, Dallas should be able to put eight guys in the box and force Wilson to beat them through the air.
It's unlikely that that happens. Take Dallas with confidence.
3. WASHINGTON REDSKINS -3 over St. Louis Rams
3 of 3It's still shocking to me, but RG III looks like he could be a Pro Bowler this year. He won the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 1, the first rookie QB ever to do so. He looked like an experienced veteran in his first start, and that should continue this week as well.
Washington really looks like they could be the surprise team of the NFL this year, and if Griffin keeps up his stellar play, they could really make some noise. The defense looks to be strong also, which points to a comfortable victory on Sunday over the Rams.
