He's b-a-a-c-k! Sean Avery Awaits 24 Hour Re-Entry Waivers Like Jack Bauer

"I am an obsolete design," Arnold Schwarzenegger' s T- 101 says in Terminator.

Sean Avery is no Schwarzenegger and has never been called The Terminator, but he has been called the Superpest, King of the Agitators, Most hated hockey player in the NHL, one of the top ten villains in NHL history, one of the top ten trash-talkers, and worse.

And better. And he's b-a-a-c-k!

Martin Brodeur called him "the Vogue intern". He is also a Gap model and has been voted "one of the sexiest men alive" by People magazine.

The eagerly-awaited installment of the Avery story that began some three months ago in Calgary when he was terminated by the Dallas Stars and the NHL will be revealed at noon.

Sean Avery was placed on 24-hour re-entry waivers by the Dallas Stars on Monday. By this afternoon, Avery will probably be skating for the Rangers.
 
Until then, the recent graduate of an anger management program will need the patience of Job. It must be like an episode of 24, starring Jack Bauer, and his daughter, Kim, played by Elisha Cuthbert. How does he sleep?

After being suspended by the NHL and sent to a behaviour modification course, and not invited back by the Dallas Stars, Avery was away from hockey for two and a half months.

For the past three week, he has been playing his way back into game shape in the AHL. In eight games, Avery had two goals, one assist—on a game winner—and just four penalties for tripping, cross-checking, elbowing, with the Hartford Wolf Pack, where he played the role of difference maker as the team went on a six game winning streak.

Or, as one headline put it, Avery Trips, Cross-Checks, Elbows, Scores, Wins Six In A Row, On His Way To NHL.

I've come to know the names of reporters who follow the Avery story, like Lynn Zinser, Pierre Lebrun, Arthur Staples, and Steve Zipay. Avery's return to the NHL has made headlines around the hockey world and they tell latest chapter in the Sean Avery story.
