Huge Name Possibly Switching Brands at This Year's WWE Draft!

Joe Burgett Mar 2, 2009

For about four to five years now, we have seen the WWE Draft. It is a night on shockers, as many of the favorites from RAW, SmackDown, and ECW switch brands. And it takes us a while to get used to them leaving those certain brands.

When Triple H got drafted to RAW from SmackDown, it was hard to see him there. After all he had been on RAW for a long time. Heck, he was drafted one year, and Eric Bischoff had to trade the Dudley's and Booker T to SmackDown for him.

I guess the WWE knew it was a mistake to move him. But also it was weird to see Rey Mysterio come to RAW. He had been on SmackDown all of his WWE career. For years we saw Mysterio there, and got used to SmackDown with him on it.

So with that said, a shake up is indeed coming again to the WWE. Not only do rumors have Christian Cage moving from ECW to RAW, but now Randy Orton has been rumored to be there as well.

Now this could be a hint to the move. According to pwrestlingnews.com, Orton is listed post WWE draft as working on Smackdown, specifically on the upcoming UK tour.

Of course we have seen RAW stars go with SmackDown sometimes on these tours. But usually guys like Orton stay behind. Orton is arguably the best heel on RAW right now; and has been for a long time.

Sure you could call him a tweener, after all he does get face pops most of the time. But if he does get moved it will be the end to Legacy.

Unless, of course, Ted Dibiase, Jr, and Cody Rhodes all get moved with Orton, which seems impossible. I mean how obvious would it be? I know it is scripted, but come on!

I'm sure they will find a way to somehow keep Legacy together, but I have no clue how considering two are on RAW and the other is on SmackDown. Orton is the leader, so for him to go it would be devastating.

If Dibiase or Rhodes went it may not be too bad. But Orton? It seems as if Orton's Legacy will be over by April to me. I think they want to make it a crashing down effect.

Or they could have him win the WWE Title and then have John Cena win the World Heavyweight Title. If that happens, two World Titles would be on RAW. That can't happen.

So you would have to put one of them on SmackDown. And since Cena is the #1 guy right now in the WWE, Orton will be going. We will have to see what happens. For now, the hottest rumor going around is Orton going to SmackDown in the 2009 WWE Draft.

Is this a good idea by the WWE?
