The Only Goal You Need to See This Weekend: Lionel Messi Curls Perfect Free Kick
Lionel Messi was at it again over the weekend. Another game produced yet another golazo.
This weekend, the diminutive superstar was on international duty with Argentina for a World Cup qualifier against Paraguay. Argentina won 3-1 on Friday, and Messi scored a beauty directly from a free kick.
With Argentina leading 2-1, Messi stepped up and curled a left-footed free kick off the near post and into Paraguay's net. The strike featured perfect technique and all the aesthetic qualities you'd expect from a Messi golazo.

Watch it above. It's the Set Piece goal of the weekend.
Messi and Argentina return to qualifying Tuesday with an away game against Peru. Then the little maestro heads back to Barcelona for more league games and presumably more golazos.
Speaking of golazos, international week produced plenty of them. And among that number there were a few free-kick specials in addition to Messi's. Here are a couple more.
Spain's Xavi curled home a right-footed effort against Saudi Arabia that never actually touched the net. Don't understand? Just watch the goal here and enjoy.
Spain, the reigning World Cup and two-time European champion, won that friendly match 5-0. They begin their UEFA qualification campaign Tuesday at Georgia.
A little closer to home, Jamaica defeated the United States 2-1 behind a pair of free-kick goals. The second, a right-footed curler from Luton Shelton, was pure class. Watch it here (fast forward to around 3:10).
For me, though, Messi's goal tops them both. What do you think?
