Adamek vs Walker: Highlander Will Have No Problem Stopping the Freight Train

Travis “Freight Train” Walker will take on Tomasz “Highlander” Adamek for the IBF North American heavyweight title at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Saturday in what promises to be a one-sided affair.

Walker is a power puncher, plain and simple—a one-trick pony.

He’s going to come out swinging and won’t stop until the fight is over.

While he has an advantage in both height and reach, not to mention the power behind those punches to end the fight with one shot should he be able to set his feet and connect, Walker’s lack of versatility should make for an easier match for the champion than he faced against Chambers.

Focusing on counterattacks and quick movements, while protecting himself from Walker’s endless attack, will keep the freight train off-balance and not let him set his feet, keeping his punches from coming with full force.

Adamek is the more well-balanced and experienced fighter, and one of the few fighters to successfully move up in classes from light heavyweight, to cruiserweight and now heavyweight.

He also represents the toughest opponent that Walker has faced since getting stopped against Chris Arreola in the third round of their 2008 title eliminator.

With a strong Polish population in Newark, Adamek will have the crowd on his side. He lacks the power at this weight class to knock Walker out, but he's patient and intelligent enough to dictate how the fight will play out and will walk out of the Prudential Center the victor in a unanimous decision.
