FC Barcelona: Lionel Messi's Greatest Goals of All Time

Lionel Messi is an icon at FC Barcelona and throughout the world. Because of Lionel Messi (as well as others in the team), FC Barcelona receives more recognition and publicity in the world.

Messi (along with Radamel Falcao of Atletico Madrid, among others) participated in the World Masters Tour last summer in the USA. The response to the tour (especially in Miami) was overwhelming.

The time has come to address the top 20 goals of all time by Messi. An invitation is made to sit back, relax and enjoy the slideshow underlining the achievements of one of the greatest footballers of the world.

Brazil vs. Argentina: June 9, 2012

In this match, Lionel Messi scored three goals in a friendly match. He also left stars like Sergio Aguero surprised at his accomplishments during the match.

It was one of these matches in which Messi and Neymar played together in opposing teams.

FC Barcelona vs. Santos FC: FIFA Club World Cup 2011

Lionel Messi started and ended the match against Neymar's Santos FC with a goal. Messi scored the first goal at the 17-minute mark and the last at the 82-minute mark.

The result was a four-point victory over a scoreless Santos FC.

Athletic Bilbao vs. FC Barcelona (Copa Del Rey Final): May 25, 2012

Pedro scored two of the three goals in the Copa Del Rey final between Barca and Athletic Bilbao. Messi stunned the public with this extraordinary goal at the 20-minute mark, which can be appreciated in this video.

FC Barcelona vs. Getafe: April 2007

Messi scored two of the five goals in the Barca match against Getafe. It was one of the beginnings for what was to come.

Tenerife vs. FC Barcelona: January 2010

Messi dominated the match between Barca and Tenerife in January 2010. He scored three times, and the result left Tenerife scoreless.

Argentina 4-0 Ecuador (2014 World Cup Qualifier): June 2012

Messi participated in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Ecuador. He scored the third goal in a match that placed Argentina in first place for South America.

Argentina 4-1 Spain: September 7, 2010

Messi scored the first goal of a match between Argentina and Spain. Messi's goal can be appreciated between 49th and 55th minute of the video, courtesy of RTVE.

Gonzalo Higuain, Carlos Tevez, and Kun Aguero scored after Messi to give Argentina the victory. Fernando Llorente scored the only goal for Spain.

Argentina 4-1 Chile (2014 World Cup Qualifier): October 2011

Gonzalo Higuain scored three of the four goals for Argentina in this World Cup qualifier. Messi scored the second goal within 26 minutes of the start.

FC Barcelona vs. Arsenal (UEFA Champions League): April 6, 2010

FC Barcelona faced Arsenal during the UEFA Champions League at Camp Nou. The date was April 6, 2010, and the results were dominated by Messi scoring in the presence of 95,000 spectators.

BATE Borisov 0-5 FC Barcelona (UEFA Champions League): Sept 28, 2011

FC Barcelona faced BATE Borisov in its stadium at Minsk, Belarus, for their UEFA Champions League match. The result was an enormous victory for Barca and Messi.

During the match, Messi equaled the record of FC Barcelona great Ladislao Kubala in goals.

FC Barcelona 4-0 Espanyol: May 5, 2012

FC Barcelona dominated the match against Espanyol with Messi scoring the four goals of the match.

FC Barcelona vs. Bayer Leverkusen (UEFA Champions League): March 7, 2012

Lionel Messi's finest hour was during the UEFA Champions League match between FC Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen. The match was celebrated at Camp Nou in Barcelona with an attendance of 75,632 people.

The result was Messi scoring five of the seven goals for La Blaugrana and dominating the match. Bayer Leverkusen scored only one point and was unable to stop the Messi onslaught.

Conclusion

While the narration was short, the videos are preferable in order to capture Messi's goals. A picture and/or a video tends to say more than words.
