Manchester United Transfer News: United Officially Sign Angelo Henriquez

Manchester United have officially signed 18-year-old striker Angelo Henriquez from Universidad de Chile on an undisclosed transfer fee, according to the club's website.

After striking a deal that would see the talented Chilean make a move to Old Trafford over the summer transfer window, the Red Devils have finally completed and finalized a deal for Henriquez, and manager Sir Alex Ferguson is understandably delighted his new signing.

The veteran manager told the club's official website:

Angelo [Henriquez] has made a tremendous impact on the game in his short career so far. His pace is a great asset and he reads the game really well for someone of such a young age.

Angelo fits the profile of a United player—skillful, attacking and someone who plays the game with real flair.

The talented teenager netted 11 goals in his 17 appearances for Universidad de Chile. After being touted as a potential United target this summer, he is understandably delighted to have completed his move to the Premier League giants.

Henriquez told the club's website that he was "thrilled to be joining the biggest club in the world" and that he eagerly awaited the opportunity to work with a great team and manager throughout the 2012-13 English Premier League season.

The striker was also quoted back in August, via the Daily Mail , saying that he was about to complete his "dream move" to Manchester United and that he was willing to play whatever role the Red Devils wanted him to this season.

Due to his age, Henriquez did not have to be listed in United's official 25-man Premier League squad that was released yesterday. Under-21 signings do not count toward the roster.

The 18-year-old is no doubt a bright signing for the future at Old Trafford, and regardless of whether he spends a great deal of time playing for the Red Devils this year or is sent out on loan to another club, he will no doubt leave his mark on the Premier League in due course.

Extremely quick and vastly talented, Henriquez is an excellent signing for United and a name that we could be hearing for many years to come.
