Miami Dolphins: Welcome to the Season of Ryan Tannehill

While the season opener approaches in Houston this upcoming Sunday, Miami Dolphins fans everywhere are bracing for what appears to be a lackluster season.

As questions circulate about the glaring problems in the receiving corps and the secondary, starting a rookie quarterback under center has slowly escaped the attention of critics.

This is largely because Ryan Tannehill is the best option the Miami Dolphins have as a starting quarterback. End of story.

Although he has had a difficult time finding a receiver he can consistently and comfortably target, he has looked sharp in preseason matchups with his ability to whip the ball into tight coverage.

Being the first quarterback drafted in the first round by the Miami Dolphins since the legendary Dan Marino is nerve-racking for Tannehill—especially because South Beach has not seen the type of dynasty Marino had since those faithful Sundays in the '90s.

But now, Tannehill is preparing for his first career regular season start. The Miami organization displayed not just his charm in Hard Knocks, but also his determination to elevate the Dolphins from the depths of the AFC East.

It is a simple reality. Tannehill is the quarterback of the future for this organization.
