Attacking the Boards: W-Aid Carries Heat Over Knicks

Mark TravisFeb 28, 2009

New York 115 - Miami Heat 120: Just hours after finding out that he could not wear his designer band-aids - or W-Aids - Dwyane Wade was on his game against the Knicks.

The band-aid move was kind of ironic as Wade got hit in the face twice and bleed both times, but that would not slow him down. At one point in the fourth quarter Wade came into the game pumped up and lead the Heat on a 19-0 run, of which he contributed 15.

“When I’m angry, I attack,” Dwyane said. Wade finished with 46 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks, making this his fourth career game with at least 40 points and 10 dimes.

Jermaine O’Neal is gradually getting used to being the primary, and only, big man for the Heat, scoring 18 points with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. The Knickerbockers were lead by the man that I think will win the 6th man award, Nate Robinson.

KryptoNate barely missed another 30 point game with 29 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 4 assists. David Lee added his nightly double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Orlando 106 - Philadelphia 100: With Dwight Howard - who apparently likes to grab other men - having a mediocre game, the Magic went to what they do best as a team, shooting threes. Every starter for Orlando had double digits in the scoring column and attempted a team record 37 three pointers.

Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu lead the team with 23 points a piece. Turkoglu was six of seven from deep with six rebounds and seven assists and Lewis was 2-for-2 from downtown with four rebounds and three assists.

Superman had just 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Andre Miller lead the 76ers with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and a steal. Andre Iguodala added 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 a steal.

Rockets Bulls BasketballHouston 102 - Chicago 105: Just two days after shutting down one of the best players in the league, Ron Artest brought his A-game offensively in this one. Unfortunately Artest’s 32 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals weren’t enough to lead the Rockets over the Bulls, ending their six-game winning streak.

Luis Scola, who is emerging as an everyday double-double threat, added 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 12 rebounds.

Rafer Alston’s replacement, Aaron Brooks, had 8 points and 7 rebounds. Rookie point guard Derrick Rose lead the Bulls with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Joakim Noah added a dub-dub with 10 points and 15 rebounds and Tyrus Thomas added 19 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steaks and 2 blocks.

Oklahoma City 99 - Memphis 92: Two rookie of the year favorites faced off in this contest, and Russell Westbrook came out on top. Westbrook finished with 25 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals and he did it all without Kevin Durant.

Durant will reportedly miss a week or two due to a sprained ankle. Jeff Green added 27 points and 10 boards. Mayo got the loss but did fairly well in the game. Mayo-nnaise added 18 points with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Rudy Gay finished with a team high 20 points to go along with 7 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 block and a steal.
