NBA Bans Dwyane Wade's Band-Aids

Kyle StrittholtFeb 28, 2009

It was released that the NBA contacted the Heat about Dwayne Wade and his band-aids for a cut under left his eye.

The problem wasn't for his use of the band-aid, it was the appearance of the band-aid.

The band-aids with flash and the American flag on it was the problem.

The NBA said it is OK if players wear them for medical purposes, but not for fashion.

They said it is too small of a penalty to penalize or fine for violating.

Then why even say anything about it?

Wade's Band-Aids were not hurting anyone. They didn't have anything bad written on them. What's so bad about an American flag?

The NBA shouldn't have wasted their time with such a small matter like this. It's not destroying basketball the way steroids is baseball right now.

They let players wear arm bands and everything else I don't see anything wrong with a band-aid with Flash on it.

It's not like it's a magical Band-Aid and making Wade play better; look at the Heat's record. Let the players play and focus on people who actually do something wrong.
