Top 75 RB's: 2012 NFL Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings (Updated 9/1)

Much has been made of Broncos rookie running back Ronnie Hillman this offseason in fantasy circles. But while Hillman is a candidate to be the Broncos' starting tailback of the future, his early prolonged hamstring problems through the first half of camp have set him back and out of the running to be Willis McGaheeโ€™s backup to begin the season.

Those duties will fall to Lance Ball.

But as the season moves along, Hillman will likely get his opportunity to take over the No. 2 job, much like we saw from David Wilson with a few weeks left in the preseason.

The end result in Wilsonโ€™s case was a sparkling performance against the Bears that led to the Giants releasing former No. 2 tailback D.J. Ware after the team's final preseason game.

Both Ahmad Bradshaw and McGahee will be the starters on playoff-caliber teams, and you should look to them as decent RB2 options if youโ€™ve yet to draft. Of the two, McGahee is the better selection, because his odds of keeping the starting job throughout the season are better, mainly because Hillman has to show more.
