The Top Four MLB Hitters To Watch in 2009
There are many hitters that could be on this exclusive list but my four are Albert Pujols, Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Howard, and Justin Morneau.
4. Albert Pujols, Cardinals (2008: .357, 37 home runs, 116 RBI)
Albert Pujols is definitely one of the most feared hitters in the major leagues. With more than 30 home runs in every one of his seasons and more than 100 RBI ever season too.

Also, eight team MVP titles and so many all star appearances it isn’t even a surprise he goes to anyone, even himself. He has a .324 career average and 977 RBI and that’s only eight years, he can go another 10 years maybe as a DH but still he has plenty of more strength in him.
3. Miguel Cabrera, Tigers (2008: .292, 37 home runs, 127 RBI)
With only six seasons as a big league player Cabrera has 175 homers, 650 RBI, and a .309 career average. He also has six MVP awards and some all star experiences in his career. Last year when he came to the Tigers everyone knew he would do good but not as so as he did. At only 25 years old Miguel has many years left in his career.
2. Ryan Howard, Phillies (2008: .251, 48 home runs, 146 RBI)
Last years World Series Champion will likely have another powerful season. With five seasons in the books, he has compiled 177-home runs and 499 RBI. He has had three consecutive 100-RBI and 40-home run seasons.
With three team MVP seasons and has already been voted into the all star game. At only 29 years old, Howard is going to make a serious run for the Hall of Fame.
1. Justin Morneau Twins (2008: .300, 23 home runs, 129 RBI)
As a rival Tigers fan, I hate to say it but Justin Morneau is my top player to watch during the 2009 MLB season. With a six season career so far he has 133 home runs, 523 RBI, and a career .281 averages.
He has three team MVP awards, two sliver slugger awards, and has been voted into the All Star game on two occasions. In the post season he has built up a .310 average, and nine hits in only two games.
