Lions' Matt Stafford Kicks off Monday Night Football with Hilarious Commercial

The NFL is back, almost. And Sunday will soon be the best day of the week again, sort of. 

At least, that's what this hilarious commercial featuring Matthew Stafford aims to explain. I'm just glad he managed to stay healthy throughout the ad and wasn't placed on IR because of it. 

For the purposes of this commercial, the Detroit Lions quarterback just had a phenomenal game on Sunday, and it's time to crack some lobster and party. 

The man is about to be crowned the player of the week, but that little hiccup known as Monday Night Football destroys the one-man fiesta he had planned. 

The heart weeps for poor Stafford. 

In the distance, the TV shows that usual suspect of quarterback excellence, Aaron Rodgers, being labeled by the MNF crew as having "the game of the week."

We fantasy owners feel his pain. 

Who hasn't celebrated a weekly victory only to have all your dreams dashed thanks to late-week heroics on Monday Night Football?

It's all part of the grandeur of the best time of the year, football season. Now please, don't get hurt, Matthew Stafford.
